Weight of the World by Chantal Kreviazuk. Harry Potter by JKR. Plot by me. R&R please! I know it's kind of short, but hopefully enjoyable all the same. Thanks!

Seventeen-year-old Harry James Potter woke up warm, happy, content, and home. Sleepily, he blinked his eyes open. The first thing he saw (after, of course, putting his glasses back on) was the sun streaming through the window.

The sky seemed bluer, the clouds whiter, and the sun warmer.

As he got up to get a shower, he felt… something.

Weird.

Like he'd forgotten or left behind something heavy.

He spent his whole shower trying to figure out what was missing.

I used to carry the weight of the world
And now all I wanna do is spread my wings and fly
I don't know why I was so afraid
All the time
Memories seemed to bother me
My whole life

As he finished dressing, he realized what it was.

The weight of the world.

He wasn't "the Chosen One".

Not "the Boy-Who-Lived".

He was Harry.

Just Harry.

A normal wizard with a tangible future.

Definitely tangible, he thought to himself as Ginny Weasley stumbled through the door right into his arms, a tray of food in her hands.

"Oh, good, you're up. I had Kreacher make breakfast, then I brought it up to you." She told him breathlessly as he set her on her feet.

Placing the tray on his bed, she wrapped her arms around him, happily pulling his lips to hers.

"Uh huh" He agreed moments before they met.

After about five years (or ten minutes – he wasn't sure) they came up for air.

Wrapping his arms more tightly around her waist, he wondered to himself why he had been so scared to face Voldemort, when the gorgeous being in his arms was waiting just behind Riddle.

"Hey, Gin?" He asked.

"Yeah?"

"Do you think my girlfriend would like to go flying?"

She looked up at him. "I'm sure we could get enough people for Quidditch."

Harry shook his head. "No. All I want to do is fly."

At her disbelieving stare, he added, "And snog the gorgeous love of my life. What do you say?"

"All right Harry." She smiled.

I used to carry the weight of the world
And now all I wanna do is spread my wings and fly

HIs whole life was now in front of him- and he had every intention of spending it with the witch currently wrapped in his arms.
