Harry was very bored. He'd been that way for a while. After the war he had been auror, but soon he grew tired of the ministry incompetence so he resigned. Now he had nothing to do, Ginny was with her mother, and the children were away at Hogwarts. He was flipping through the channels on a magical telly when he stopped on a show called 'Doctor Who'. He watched with fascination as The Doctor fought his way through an army of what looked like pepper pots called Daleks.

At the end of the show he was breathless with amazement. So much running! So many insane things! Impossible things! An idea quickly formed in his mind. What if he, Harry, had a sonic screwdriver? The possibilities were endless!

He hopped out of his chair and ran outside before pointing his wand at the sky. He focused his thoughts on the screwdriver and nothing else then yelled "ACCIO SONIC SCREWDRIVER!" He waited a moment then frowned at himself. Of course it wasn't real. Just as he was about to turn and head inside, a bright flash caught his eye. Some shiny object was moving his way, and quickly.

Just before it hit him it stopped and fell to the ground. When he looked he couldn't believe his eyes. The sonic screwdriver! It was REAL! He picked up, feeling slightly hysterical. Just then he heard an odd whooshing noise and saw the outline of a large blue police box. As he stood there standing, the box fully materialised, and out stepped a young man with a large chin wearing a bowtie and a fez. He looked around for a moment then spotted his screwdriver in Harry's hand.

The man merely raised an eyebrow at him before walking forward, grabbing the screwdriver out of Harry's hand, before turning and walking back into his box. As Harry watched the box began to fade away with the same heaving, whooshing noise.

Later, when Ginny had returned home, she found her husband standing in the front yard, just staring at nothing but air. She waved her hand in front of his face a couple of times before he snapped to attention. "What happened to you?" she asked. He turned to face her slowly, "I met the Doctor."
