Sorry it's so out of character. :(
Her cottage smelled of flowers, must, and innocece. Though first his intentions were of malice, Discord had quickly fallen in love with the only creature in 2000 sweeps he was able to call a "friend". They were currently on their way to a place of his that he had found a couple hundred years ago. It is a place of beauty, a place of sanctity. Somewhere to escape when reality is just too tough to deal with, and you need to flee, this cliff-side abode would always be there for him. Everything about this place reminded him of Fluttershy. So he decided to bring her.
But that is not the only reason her presence was desired. This was going to be the day he tells her of his feelings. He wanted her to know. And it would be okay if she declines his advances. He just wants her to know.
"So, Fluttershy, I thought it would be nice to simply watch the sunset. And talk. What do you think?" His voice is soft and slightly husky.
She hides the side of her face into the curl in her hair.
"That sounds wonderful, Discord." His heart flutters into the butterflies on her flank.
"Good." His reply is small and awkward, but perfect in her opinion.
They finally arrive to the hide out. The life is mesmerizing. The light of bugs and the setting sun luminate against the wild plants twisting into their own vines. When her eyes lay upon the beauty, a soft gasp escapes from her throat. A rabbit of blue and purple leaps to her hooves and reaches a paw out. She lightly accepts the small animal's offer, and shakes his paw. The rabbit runs away into a near bushel of greens. Fluttershy puts her hoof to her face before stepping forward in silence.
"So... Do you like it?" The unease oozes into his words.
She turns her head and look over her shoulder to stare into his eyes. She chuckles and speaks.
"It's the most amazing thing I've ever seen. Of course I like it." Discord exhales a bout of breath he didn't know he was holding. A wide smile forms on his face.
"I'm so glad you think so, Fluttershy." She stares into his eyes and smiles genuinely. He flys over to the edge of the cliff, and sits on it; his legs hanging off of the edge. He turns to her and uses his hand to motion her over to him. She blushes insignificantly, then walks to carefully peek over into the valley below. After getting slightly dizzy, she steps back and sits down, joining him in staring at the pink and red enigma at the end of the sky.
They stay in this position for a few minutes. Discords reajusts and looks to Fluttershy, the tingling, wonderful feeling returning. The building courage inside of him to tell her his feelings is attempting to break free. And he wanted to let it out.
"Fluttershy, I have something to tell you. Something to admit..." His muscles tighten with anxiety.
"Yes, Discord?"
He sighs. "Fluttershy, ever since you taught me the... magic of friendship... my feelings for you have made themselves evident..."
"What do you mean?"
The blush seeping into his cheeks make the entire outside feel hotter. "I love you."
Her eyes widen in suprise. Discords loves her? The seemingly unrequited stale, passion she had felt for him is now reciprocated? Tears grow in her delicate eyes. Her sobs of happiness almost mask her blissful response.
"I-I love you, too!" The euphoric wave of saccharin exlpodes in Discord's heart to hear those words. He lerchs forward and wraps his arms around her back, keeping her protected and close to him. She nuzzled into his scaled-chest, and lets out a naive giggle.
