When the Heart Cries

Hiyono awoke to the slight drumming of raindrops on her family's house. A thunderclap awoke her from her slight daze. She yelped and hid under the covers. The quilted bolts of

fabric seemed to block out all frightening subjects. Unwillingly her mind floated to Ayumu. Then to Eyes, he had recently asked her out. She politely refused; she had only eyes for

Ayumu. He, however, wanted nothing to do with her, he thought of her as merely a companion, and maybe a shield. She could tell he liked Kei, one who shared his same passion

for the piano. All Hiyono wanted was Ayumu to be happy. But unfortunately, Kei liked Eyes. It was a huge mucky situation of love.

Hiyono slowly drifted into an unsteady sleep, Ayumu on her mind.

Hiyono woke late and had to hurry, unusual for her. Her tie was askew, but she made it to class quick enough. She slipped into her seat right as the teacher was about to call her

name. "Cutting it close, Hiyono. I wonder what kept you?" he looked at her harshly. "I couldn't sleep, too much homework." She lied; if she told him the truth no one would

confine in her his or her secrets.

Ayumu whispered to her during geometry. "Were where you, really." She glared at him and he immediately looked away.

Sighing, Hiyono sat harp, she strung the strings. This was her realm, her place. She plucked each string, letting a mellow sound break the silence. Like Ayumu and his bad memories from the piano, Hiyono had her own bad memories that the harp brought into her mind.

The smoke engulfed the building, "Hiyono Get out now! Save yourself before its to late." she felt he throat

closing up, it felt dry and warm. Blood suddenly poured out of her mouth staining the ground. Her sister was right

she had to get out, the chemical fire was in front of her eyes, stinging them. The air ripped at her throat and

tore it to ribbons, more blood just kept on coming. Grappling for something she could pull her to the window.

Clear air came in followed by a shower of water. It soaked her body, she shivered and threw herself out the

window. The clear sky made her burnt hair light up. She landed in Eye's arms. And the next thing she knew she was

in a hospital bed.
