Disclaimer, I don't own Harry Potter.

"I'm what?" Harry stared at Luna in disbelief.

"The king of the fairies, Harry," Luna replied in a dreamy, yet confident, voice. "Their last king died recently and they, as tradition require, chose the most well-known and best liked of the fairies as his successor, since he didn't have an heir.

Harry continued to stare at Luna in disbelief, "But I'm not a fairy."

"You are part fairy, Harry," came the dreamy reply. "Your great-grandmother on your father's side was three-quarter fairy."

"They can choose someone who isn't fully fairy?" Harry asked, having seemingly decided to believe Luna where his heritage was concerned.

"Mm," Luna hummed. "Fairies are rarely bias when it comes to blood. Their last king was an eighth goblin."

"Right, what does being the king of the fairies mean for me?" Harry sighed, resigned to having his future once again dictated by someone other than himself.

"Right now it doesn't mean much for you – the Council of the Royal Court of the Fairies will reign for you until you are of age, they will merely consult you regarding any major decisions. You will of course still be the face of the nation, but other than a few public appearances I don't believe it includes much. After you come of age it will be much more of an obligation – although you could, if you feel the council have done a good job so far, choose to allow the council to continue to rule as they have and only step in when larger decisions are to be made."

"I see," Harry looked thoughtful. "Would I need an advisor, do you think? Someone outside of the council to discuss any big decisions with before they're made?"

"Certainly, an impartial advisor would be most useful," Luna replied.

"Would you like to be my impartial advisor? You seem to have some knowledge of the fairies already which will be useful when making any important decisions."

Luna nodded, "I would love to be your advisor, Harry."

"Good," Harry beamed. "So, when do you think the royal council will be in touch? They will most likely want to discuss how we are to go from here."
