The Doctor was dead. Clara couldn't believe it, he was truly dead. He had died defending her from the daleks. They had captured her and were waiting for him when he returned to her home. She had tried to warn him, but she was too late and now he was dead. True he took out most of daleks with him, but it seemed impossible that he was actually dead.

It had been three days since his death, three terribly long days as they prepared for his funeral. Vastra, Jenny and Strax had all shown up somehow, as well as a woman named Sally and her son, Billy. They had been allowed to see him, and his service was to begin in an hour. Young Billy John Nightingale had stayed in the same room as the Doctor, while everyone else went outside for a moment.

Billy Nightingale was an odd child. For one, he never had a stone statue anywhere near his home, not that his mum or dad would let him. He also had strange fascination with old police boxes. His mum had told him that the first time she realized who the Doctor was, they had been near a police box, so he assumed that had something to with it.

When everyone went outside, he stayed with the body, wondering why this man held so much sway over the people around him. The coffin had been closed before everyone left, but he couldn't resist seeing the man who had brought his parents together. As he went to open the coffin, a bright golden glow spilled out, almost blinding him with it's intensity. He let the lid drop as he ran to find his mother, never knowing the significance of that light.

Clara cried, knowing that such a man had died. The Doctor had been a bright light to all the universes, always there when needed, yet gone before anyone could thank him. As she listened to the others as they stood in front of everyone and talked of their time with the Doctor, she wondered if he knew how many lives he had changed for the better.

When it came to her turn, she stood and made her way to the front. This was what she had been dreading, to speak of the fact that he was truly gone. Once she reached the front, she paused a moment at his coffin, "I love you," she said, "And I always will." She turned then to face the others. As she opened her mouth to speak there were gasps and yells of shock throughout the crowed. She spun to see what was wrong and saw a light spilling out of the coffin, heard a strange buzzing sound.

She stood there in amazement, feeling hope that somehow, impossibly, he was still alive.

The Doctor groaned quietly, wondering why it was so dark. He had gone still at the voices but was startle when he heard Clara. What she said startled him even more. He grabbed his sonic screwdriver and began trying to get out of whatever he was in. Once he realized he was in a COFFIN he sighed. He brought his arms and pushed on the lid, feeling weaker than normal.

He got the lid open and leapt out grinning broadly. "I hope you haven't missed me," he said, swinging his arms wide, " because there is no way I'm dying yet!" As soon as the words were out of his mouth, he felt a slap across his face then two soft arms wrapping around his waist as Clara held with all her strength. He smiled softly down at her, "and Clara, I love you too." He leaned down and kissed her, knowing then that even though he lost River, there was still someone for him to love, who loved him, and he was never letting her go.
