Note: this takes place right after Percy gets offered , suspense! :D

"So? Do you accept?" Zeus asked after minutes of silence, clearly annoyed. Percy flinched and mentally went through some pros and cons, knowing that if anyone else had this opportunity they would have been immortal already.

PROS

Duh, immortality.

living forever

being a GOD

not dying

powers

CONS

being a GOD

not dying

never getting older

no gaining or losing hair

no growing old

watching chiron die

watching Grover die

and, most importantly, watching Annabeth die

watching Annabeth die, oh Gods...

With this in mind, Percy made his decision.

"I...can't. Sorry." the Gods started murmuring.

"What could possibly make you refuse the gift of immortality? It is not wise Perseus." Said (of course) Athena. He looked at his feet.

"I...," he started blushing but looked straight into her eyes anyway. She frowned. "You know why." And with that he fled the room.

"Did he just refuse a gift from the gods? What happened?" Poseidon asked nervously. Chilled, Athena spoke up.

"He fell in love with my daughter, Annabeth."
