Hogwarts!?
Hello!
This is my first (published) fanfiction story in a long time. The idea popped in my head yesterday and I had to write it down.
It's basically a fluffy one-shot between Klaus and his 11-year-old daughter Hope. AU; Klaus may be slightly OOC
It was the evening of Hope Mikealson's 11th birthday and the girl was sitting on her bed and staring absent-mindedly out of the windows when her father Klaus entered her room.
"Hope, what are you doing here? Everyone is downstairs and waiting for the birthday girl to arrive."
"I turned 11 today, Dad!"
"I know, love. That's why there are a dozen people waiting in our living room in order to congratulate you."
Hope turned her face in her father's direction and Klaus could see the tears on her cheeks.
"Did someone made you cry? Say their name and I'll kill them!"
"No, Dad, I just…didn't get my letter." She was so used to her dad's threats of killing people that she didn't even smile at his worried words. She was too miserable to smile anyway.
"Letter?"
"My Hogwarts acceptance letter! I thought that…that now I'm 11 I'd get the letter…" Hope sounded very upset.
Klaus didn't know what to say so he went for the obvious:
"Hope, you should have realized by now that Hogwarts doesn't exist!"
"But witches are real so there must be a place where they are teached! And uncle Elijah always says that I have witch's blood in me, so it's not fair that they forgot to send me an owl!"
"Sweetheart, trust me, there are no secret schools for magical children out there. If there was I'd surely know it. In our world older witches give their knowledge to their younger relatives. At home."
"You said it yourself! Secret! Only witches and wizards know of Hogwarts! So it's now possible that you know of it!"
Klaus sighed. This conversation was hard. How was he to explain to his daughter that Hogwarts only existed in novels?
"Hope, even if this school existed and you were a real witch, you wouldn't get a letter."
"And why not?"
"Because we are living in America. You'd get a letter for an American school."
"Hmm." Her dad had a point there. She didn't live in England and never had. But still.
"I looked forward to my 11th birthday since I started reading Harry Potter a few years ago."
Klaus was used to answer to all of his daughter's wishes. Hope just had to wish for something and the hybrid made sure that she got it.
Whether it was a life-sized doll house (when she was four), a white pony (with seven) or an impressive collection of exotic fish for her tank (the year before) Klaus and his siblings bought everything for the little girl.
But this time, Klaus couldn't fulfill her wish for the object of her desire simply didn't exist. Besides Hope was not a witch. True, she had some witch blood in her but every warlock and witch he met confirmed him that Hope was most likely only a werewolf.
Suddenly he had a terrific idea. He looked at Hope and smiled. "Sweetheart, I can't make Hogwarts real nor can I conjure this letter you're wanting but what about a compromise?"
"A compromise?"
"Yes, love. An agreement which may not be perfect but which would made both of us happy."
"And what would that be?"
"I'll take you to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando and afterwards we could fly to London and take the Harry Potter Studio Tour."
Hope smiled and hugged her father. "Dad, you are amazing! Thanks. Even if it is not the real thing, thank you."
"You are welcome, Hope. So this is settled?"
"Yes!"
"Great! Now, let's get downstairs and announce our plans to your guests!"
Thanks for reading! I know that this was very short but I'm only getting used to fanfiction after my hiatus.
Please review and tell me what you think about this one-shot
