Oh Hi! I hope you enjoy this Percabeth one-shot, this fanfic is inspired by Ed Sheeran's song Afire love in his album X. I don't own the series nor the song. So, enjoy this.. ;3 OH, by the way, if you guys remembered who Percy slayed when he was controlling the poison in their time in Tartarus, please review what's his/her name. I forgot and that's like one of my mistakes below there in the story, the other one is my grammar.
Annabeth was currently sitting by the lake when Percy decided to spend time with her.
"What's on that mind of yours, Wise girl?" Percy asked. He looked at Annabeth with a smile in his face.
"Thinking" Annabeth answered. Percy laced their hands together.
"You're always thinking. C'mon, talk to me" Percy whined like a little kid. Annabeth smile and ruffled her boyfriend's hair.
In reality, after the war with Gaea was over, she was always thinking. Sure it's like an everyday thing an Athena kid would do, but sometime Annabeth's thought would go over the edge. For instance, when she remembered Percy controlling the poison to kill Akhylis at their time in Tartarus, Annabeth was terrified. She thought he wouldn't snap out of it. And even after the whole 'going around Tartarus' thing was over, he wasn't himself for a few days. Annabeth could've said the same thing about herself.
"Wise girl" Annabeth broke out of her thoughts when Percy poked her shoulder.
"Percy, stop it." She swatter her boyfriend's hand away but he just kept poking.
Percy stopped poking, just to say,"Are you thinking about the events that just happened?"
Annabeth looked at Percy at the eyes, Yes, I am, "Seems to be the point."
"It's in the past Annabeth." Percy grabbed her other hand and held them, "Don't think about the past."
Annabeth shook her head, "I know, Percy-"
"You know, Annabeth. But for once, stop thinking and look at me." Annabeth once again looked at Percy, his sea-green eyes reflecting mixed emotions.
"The important thing, and the only thing you should constantly think about right now is that it's over." Percy gulped, his Adams apple bouncing in his throat, "I'm here, you're here, everyone's here. We can strangle Leo tomorrow after Piper and Jason kills him for just faking his death like that."
Annabeth chuckled, "I guess you're right."
Percy's playful grin appeared in his face, "You know I'm right"
Annabeth playfully smacked his arm. Percy rubbed it and pouted, "I would've called you an iago if you weren't my girlfriend."
"I'm surprise your read Othello" Annabeth said.
"What do you mean, Othello? I'm calling you the parrot from Aladdin." Percy said with a confused face.
"Seaweed brain" Annabeth said with mirth, "But your right, I should be thinking about what's in the present."
Percy cupped his girlfriend's face and kissed her on the lips.
"You won't lose me again." Percy wrapped his arms around Annabeth and they stayed like that for a while. Then, Annabeth hold Percy's hand and squeeze it. "You won't be lost. No. Not without me."
Percy kissed Annabeth's temple, "I love you"
Annabeth rested her head against Percy's chest, listening to his beating heart, "I love you, too."
And for the rest of the hour, they stayed like that.
