It was nighttime, and Meimi Haneoka had just finished taking out the trash, when suddenly a huge, looming dark shape bounded out from the shadows! Oh, it was horrible! It was nasty! It was... her father.
"Hey, Meimi! Have you seen the trash?" he asked, quite innocently.
"No," Meimi grumbled. Since she had given up being Saint Tail, she had been rather grumpy.
"Oh," her father murmured, disappointed. "You didn't take it out, then? I told your mother not to do that anymore; maybe she listened."
Meimi stomped away and headed back into her house. She was just about to open the door when suddenly a huge, looming dark shape bounded out from the shadows! Oh, it was horrible! It was nasty! It was... a shadow! Surprise, surprise! Meimi ignored it and opened the door to her house. To her astonishment, all of the lights had been turned off. It was strange, for she had just seen lights streaming from the windows moments earlier.
