May the Force be with you fellow Hunters
"Dean – Dean you need to rest - Dean!" Cas pulled Dean's shoulder towards a nearby tree and shoved him to his knees. "You need to rest Dean." Cas said kneeling down beside him. Dean looked as though he wanted to argue but found no strength to do so. Castiel knelt down to the thick brush and removed his tattered trench coat before draping it over Dean's shoulders. With the coat's sleeve he did his best to clean up some of the blood that oozed from a gash on Dean's temple. Dean fought against him, pushing his arm away. "Cas, you're not my damn mother stop it!" He growled a curse beneath his breath in a final effort to get the burnt sleeve away from his face. "You need to stop petting me like a cat so I can find Sam!"
"You can't look for Sam when you can't stand Dean."
"I can stand when you step off my ass!" Dean barked. Despite the situation Cas let in a small nearly invisible smile. "You rest then Dean. I will find Sam myself." Dean grit his teeth, his head lolling to the side a bit. "That's all we need is you dead too." He barked. Cas shifted from one knee to the other and looked behind him. "I will be back soon Dean, just stay here. He said placing his hand over Dean's heart. Expecting for his hand to land on Dean's shoulder he stiffened but then Dean tightened his hand over Cas's hand making him turn a bit to quickly.
Dean looked like he had gotten worse with just the few seconds that had past. "Cas…" Dean muttered looking at Cas dead in the eye. "Cas… Cas if something happens when you come back just… Just take care of Sam ok?" Cas paused and for once he found himself unable to speak.
After what seemed to be an eternity between them Cas finally choked out the words "ok." He felt himself try to rise to his feet but with all the strength Dean had he pulled Cas back down to his knees.
"Cas," he whispered, his voice so low it nearly faded into the sounds of trees rustling around them. "Cas, I love you." Dean gripped Cas's hand a bit tighter, he found no strength to speak any more or ask for a response but he didn't need to. Castiel nodded softly and said, "I love you, Dean Winchester."
p.s Dean doesn't die, my friend said I needed to say that but I'd much rather you suffer over the idea that no one knows if Dean dies or not. But he lives
