As You Wish
"Killian, it's just a cough. It's irritating as hell but not a death sentence."
He smirked at her wording but remained firm. "That might be so Swan but I believe a couple hours rest would still be beneficial. It is decidedly worse than it was yesterday."
Her chin lifted a fraction as if to his deny his assertion but before she could...
He cringed as she folded in on herself in a desperate attempt to stifle the reaction. The fit was worrisome, a deep rattling cough that could easily be compared to a canine's bark...although he would never voice the observation to her. He valued his remaining hand.
She gasped in breaths but the action seemed to only intensity the irritation.
He watched helplessly as it continued, palm hovering at her shoulder. After some moments it finally calmed and she absently rubbed at her chest. "Oww."
"Maybe your idea isn't such a bad one pirate," she admitted, sinking into his offered arms.
"Take her home pirate before she hacks up a lung," a half worried/half exasperated David called out. Emma startled at the voice and her glare at the hallway where her father's office was situated wasn't close to intimidating. She burrowed deeper into his chest, missing the prince coming into view and nodding at Killian. He took it as an unspoken invitation.
He smiled into Emma's hair and instinctively knew what was required to seal her decision. "I believe that that film you are so fond of when feeling under the weather is on the Netflix. Although I can't understand how that Wesley character can consider himself a pirate of the realms. Who does he believe he is deceiving in that mask? And his clothing..."
"Says the man who has a closet filled with black leather."
A derisive snort and she chances a chuckle, relieved it doesn't set off another spell.
"Come on Babe. The Princess Bride awaits."
Looping her fingers around his hook, they begin the trek home.
"As you wish love."
