Theme 1: Blink
Blink blink.
Teto became more aware of the entire world as she sat with Luka. It made her alive, to the point of even noticing her own blinks every time she gazed into her face.
Blink blink.
"I sure blink a lot."
Flutter... blink.
"Hm, how often does Luka blink?" Teto wondered to herself, inconspicuously leaning closer to the taller girl next to her on the bench.
Gazing into her girlfriend's lovely, silky face, she watched as Luka's eyes, the color of lapis lazuli, gradually flutter shut.
"Luka's taking a really long blink." Teto said out loud.
Teto heard Luka's sweet laughter emanate from her smiling clenched lips. The taler woman affectionately leaned forward, kissing Teto on the lips once, her eyes still gently closed.
"Mhm..." Teto's own eyes fluttered shut as Luka's soft lips collided with hers, immersing the two in their own sweet comfortable trance right there on the outside bench.
"Speaking of blinking..." Luka modestly spoke once they separated, "I once thought that blinking was taking a picture with your eyes. The picture would en be stored somewhere in the back of your mind... and that's where memory comes from. I used to think that if I didn't remember something, it meant that I didn't blink enough times."
"Aww, Luka..." Teto curled up into the lap of her girlfriend. "So you had some amusing thoughts as a kid too, huh? Well, it's understandable, your eyes are like closing camera lenses, somewhat."
Luka nodded, stroking Teto's soft bangs as she continued to lean onto her.
Blink blink.
"So Luka... did you use to blink a lot during moments that meant a lot to you?" Teto asked curiously.
"Mm-hm." Luka hummed a "yes".
Luka blinked.
"Somehow, in the back of my mind, I still believe that's true. That you're taking a picture when you blink your eyes... that's why I must blink so much when I'm with you." Luka said in a gentle murmur.
"Hm?" Teto eyed her partner curiously.
"Teto, when I'm with you..." Luka said, "My eyes grow wide. They get misty sometimes. They close on their own when you make me laugh... When I'm with you, I blink more than usual."
Luka continued to caress Teto's face and the smaller girl began closing her eyes, enjoying the smooth touch of her warm hands.
"Perhaps the reason I blink more is because... my body wants me to take as many mental pictures of our moments as I possibly can. I want to remember you forever and ever Teto... and I want to be with you for just as long..."
Teto felt extremely warm and fuzzy inside listening to Luka's sweet longing words.
"Aww, Luka... Luka, you're so sweet!" the small girl blushed a rosy shade of pink, giving Luka a sweet kiss on the cheek.
"Now, Teto..." Luka began blushing even deeper, "you're embarrassing me..."
"Blink-blink-blink-blink."
Teto stared directly at Luka's face and rapidly blinked as many times as she could.
"Now Teto, what are you doing?" Luka asked with a smile.
"Taking as many mental pictures of you as I can! I want to remember you forever and ever and ever!"
Luka laughed, looking back into Teto's face, blinking rapidly the same way.
"Ahaha! Blinking contest!" Teto cheered.
"I can blink faster than yooou." Luka giggled softly.
"No you caaaan't!" Teto leaned directly into Luka's face and singsonged.
Luka leaned in with a smile, hushing Teto with a warm kiss to her lips.
"Hee-hee."
