The brown haired girl looked over at her new ally—Austin from district Nine—and behind him were two moving blurs that were moving towards them. The girl placed her hand at her eyebrows and narrowed her eyes, trying to make out the figures. "Hey Austin is that Shawn? I thought he was right behind us!" Shawn frantically blocked the fast slices of a great-sword with his own and jumped towards the two. "It's Hunter." Austin frowned as the girl stepped back a couple paces. "And if Hunter's here, so is his partner." Suddenly, Austin spun and pushed her in the bushes. "Fuck!"
Austin knew he would get a slapping as soon as he joined her. "Why the hell did you do that?" She hissed raising her hands; the dark boy placed his hand over the girl's mouth and looked out of the bushes. "Sorry Shelly." Austin said not taking his eyes off of Shawn. Shell placed her raised hands on Austin's and tried to pull it off.
No luck here, damn. Shell tried hitting, slapping and poking Austin to get his attention. His response is the same to every one of those distractions; he would blink and turn to her, blink again, and turn back to watch Shawn and Hunter. Well shit. She turned glanced to where her partner was and remembered. Shawn sprained his ankle and wrist. He sprained them both. Both!
Hunter furiously slashed at Shawn with all his force, grinning evilly. Shawn kept his place and began to be pushed back by the numerous strikes to his legs. "Dance Shawnie, Dance!" Hunter laughed finally hitting Shawn's left leg.
One, two, there, four, five, six.
Hunter just kept on hitting him, not stopping for anything. The blood splashed out onto the dust dry ground. Shawn winced and jumped back again. He tripped over a root which was right beside Austin's bush. I can't watch this! I need to help Shawn! Shell pushed bit Austin's hand and pushed him back towards the back of the bush. She forced herself out just as Hunter shouted and struck down his great-sword at Shawn.
Blood flew through the air as Hunter strikes Shell's shoulder. It got deep enough to where it dislocated the bone. Hunter withdrew his sword in shock; the wounded girl placed her hand on her shoulder and winced greatly. "You seriously think…" She wobbled towards him with a dragger in her open hand. "That I'll let you kill my partner?"Hunter looked at her dark blue eyes; he took a couple paces back. They're like… dead fish eyes, all dull no light. "I don't want to hurt you Shell."
"Sure you don't." Shell placed a foot in front of her but then was flung off to the west side trees. Her back hit with great impact, she screamed as her shoulder grew in pain. Pushing herself off the tree, she stumbled forward only to be pushed back again, this time, being held. She winced once more and glanced at her attacker. A tall boy, with dirty blonde hair and green eyes, placed his hands on her shoulders and held her back. "F-Fuck off Davies, Stay out of this!" She growled struggling to get out of his grip.
"Oh, then you think that I'll let you kill my partner?" He pushed harder, and began to hearing loud wincing from her. "Touché." She frowned. Davies looked at her and then nudged his head back. She followed the way to where he signaled and grew in horror. Shawn was laid out on the ground facing Shell eyes and mouth wide open as if he was calling out to her. A red liquid increased around Shawn's neck. His calling was cut off by a deep slit to the throat. The next thing she knew was Hunter shouting at the bush where her ally had been hiding. Slowly, Austin stepped out of the ferns with his hands over his almost shaved head. Hunter had picked up Shell's dragger and placed it at Austin's neck. Frantically, Shell began to kick and shake Davies furiously, not wanting to lose another friend and fellow ally.
Everything stopped as a gunshot rang through the forest, and a body fell to the ground; dead.
