"Sam, seriously. Why are we doing this again?"
You were sitting on the sofa in the bunker, quite comfortably so, and Sam had dragged up a chair beside you. He had your left hand on his thigh, and he was carefully painting your nails midnight blue. On your other side, your right hand rested in Dean's lap, and he was painting your nails pale pink.
"That is a damn good question," Dean muttered, not taking his eyes off your hand.
"You're the one who claims to have such great fine motor skills!" Sam directed this at Dean. "I only said you should test them!"
"I don't even like nail polish!" you exclaimed, but jokingly so. You were very amused by the whole shebang. These were two grown men who slayed monsters as a job.
"But you gotta admit, I'm good at colour-matching." Dean grinned at you, and when Sam looked over at you both with a bitchface, Dean promptly wiped the smile off his face and went back to trying to give you a French manicure.
Sam tucked his hair behind his ear and was about to apply a sparkly second coat when Castiel popped into the bunker. He did so soundlessly, and before he could make any noise, you mouthed "Photo! Take a photo!" at him. It took a couple of tries, but he got the message and snapped a shot of the three of you on his phone.
The boys looked up, having heard the fake shutter noise, and both proceeded to look extremely disgruntled. You laughed, and asked Cas to send you the photo.
"I have news on the mark," he offered.
"Great," Sam said under his breath, "Maybe we can manicure it away."
Dean was about to throw the bottle of nail polish at Sam's head when you interrupted. "Look at that!" you held up your left hand, twirling your fingers so the glitter caught the light.
"All done. Thanks, Sam."
Dean released your hand, and you held that one up to the light, too. Sam's was better, but you reassured Dean that French manicures were difficult and this was very good for a first try. Dean then asked if he could practice on Cas next time, to which Cas's eyes widened and he popped out of the bunker again.
