my second nalu fanfic. This idea has been whirling around for like, years but I've never got around to write it until now. I am a pro at procrastinating.
summary
he thinks he will just fry whatever-creature-is-inside and gobble it up but it's least expected to find out that the creature inside that giant egg is a female – a cute blonde to be exact.
Prologue

Once upon a time, there lived a giant dragon beneath the surface of earth, where everything is hot and boiling. The dragon often caused chaos – from earthquake to fire on the surface whenever he is hungry. The Fairy Tail kingdom, which resided just above the dragon's nest, became confused. It couldn't go on like this forever . . . So they tried to come up with an idea day and night. Eventually, they found a solution and the dragon agreed to it.
For a little while, the kingdom was peaceful.
But it's still far from happily ever after.

Natsu is always, always alone.
He is always alone in that empty cave, the walls echoing back his thoughts to no one but him. He questions and he answers back with a question. Long ago, he used to search for the person speaking on the other end, only to find no one, nothing.
He is all alone.
Igneel left. He didn't know why, no answers. So, why?
So, why?
His voice answers back. Always the same question.
Always the same person.
It's him, alone, alone, alone.
But one day, he heard a sound – a thud, a rolling sound, a bump and then nothing. It's not caused by him. It's something else and he didn't know what. It could be something, someone in this lonely place but he's done hoping for something that will turn into a disappointment. But he knows he can't shake off the little spark of hope in his heart.
He strains his ears and waits for more sounds.
Nothing.
Then, he sees it. There, at the end of everything, a giant, pink polka-dotted egg peeks out from an equally giant rock.
His stomach rumbles.
It looks delicious.
Prologue: end
a/n haha, there you go. It's better in my imagination actually. But yeah, I hope you're not disappointed. Probably it's a little confusing at first but you'll get to know more as the story progresses. It's short because it's the prologue. 'll update soon with a longer chapter I suppose.
