The sound of something rolling back in forth in a wicker basket wakes Twilight Sparkle up. Confused, she gets up and trots over to Spike, who to her slight surprise is having a nightmare.
Now, contrary to popular belief, just because Spike ACTS older doesn't mean he IS. He's still a baby after all. Twilight, knowing full well of this fact, walks over and nuzzles the little dragon, who wakes up with a scream. Instantly he's in Twilight's embrace.
"Shh...it's alright Spike, it was a nightmare." Spike nuzzles her chest, sobbing. "I-it was horrible!" Twilight picks the baby dragon up with her magic, and the two make their way to her bed.
Gently, she sets Spike down, and is at his side quicker than Pinkie Pie can throw a party. "Wanna talk about it?" The dragon nods. "I h-had a d-d-dream w-where I w-was a a-a-adult a-and I k-killed you all!"
Twilight nuzzles the little dragon, making a soft ssh every once in a while. "It's alright Spike, it was just a dream." Spike continued to cry, but it died. "W-what if *hic* I d-DO do that?!" Twilight gave a small smile. "You won't Spike, I know you. I know you won't.''
Spike nodded. "Want me to sing to you?" A small itty bitty blush found it's way onto the Dragon's face. "I-if it's n-not to m-much trouble."
Twilight smiled slightly wider and begun to sing a soft tone. "Hush little dragon don't you cry, Mama's gonna sing you a lullaby" Spike yawned as Twilight sung. "And if that lullaby provokes your ire, Mama's gonna buy you a giant sapphire."
Spike snuggled more and was nodding off. "And if that sapphire doesn't taste like a goodee, then Mama's gonna buy you a big fat ruby."
Spike was sleeping now, hugging the purple maned mare. Twilight smiled and pulled up the covers, then kissed his forehead and whispered "Mama loves you Spike."
