Title: Libra
Summary: Ahh, the infamous SILENCE episode of Death Note. I couldn't help being
haunted by the symbolism of this particular one episode as well as its
beautiful use of the 3 recurring colours of red, blue and yellow. The
sheer emotion this episode expressed touched me deeply and gave me
a real human feeling for L and the lonliness he must have experienced.
A poem from L's POV.
Characters: L
Warnings: Episode 25 spoiler
Disclaimers: I don't own Death Note and I don't own L (as much as I
would love to).
Libra 2/17/08
I can hear the bells
Calling me home
Time
Is slipping slowly from my grasp
Like sand in an hour glass
This shell, this mortal coil
Shall fall to dust and ash
But Justice will live on
For I am merely its agent
One of many avatars
The torch shall be passed
As it always has
Again and again and again
From time immemorial
Justice, like Death
Is unrelenting
Is cold
Is unforgiving
Devoid of human pride
Of human emotion
So unlike
Creatures of frailty and fragility
Such as we
Do you hear the bells?
They too must one day call to you
When that day comes
Will you heed their gentle beckon
The sweet song of Heaven
Or will you run as you always do?
Will you run from their judgement?
The final voice of Justice
