This is the first complete bit of anything I've ever written for TRC, so I guess this is like my introduction! Hello! ;D
So this is something I wrote ages ago and never published here. But recently my lovely beta MirrorDede wrote a poem, and it reminded me of this (because this is the only real poem I've ever written). So I figured I might as well share.
No, I obviously don't own Tsubasa. CLAMP are the masterminds and that's how it will stay.
-Epiphany-
"Smile away the pain," they said,
"All turn out right."
But surely Pain comes creeping back
Amidst the dead of night.
She softly wraps around you,
Yes, right around your throat.
She silently surrounds you,
Just like a winter coat
In summer.
The middle of July, in fact.
And the sun has blinded your eyes.
Preventing you from seeing
Down the road and being wise.
That ancient version of yourself,
One who had once stood tall,
Wilts in your moment of weakness
As into agony you fall.
You cannot move, you cannot breathe,
You cannot even scream.
Or dare to wish that maybe,
This is all some twisted dream.
And once you know you're truly hopeless,
In the depths of your despair
Along comes Sir Epiphany
To free you from this snare.
He grabs you by the shoulder.
You quickly whirl around.
He's come to a conclusion
And you're shocked at what he's found.
"You live by their philosophy.
But sink when trouble calls.
So, could it be that possibly
Their words have proven false?"
"Who then do I believe?" you ask.
"Now what am I to do?"
"Stand tall again," the wise man said,
"But only if it's true."
Did my obvious symbolism fail? XD
Ah well. Review? Yes?
