Chapter 1
Today started like any other day.
I woke up to the wonderful smells of the morning (especially the ones humans can't even appreciate).
I got up and picked a simple, but fashionable outfit from my giant closet curtsey of my aunt Alice. After I was about six I gave up fighting against her and just wore what ever she gave me.
But today wasent a normal day.
Today my best friend Jacob was finally coming home! I haven't seen him for almost a whole year!
Thanks to my parents after much arguing they convinced Jacob to go to college.
I think what really made him go was when I told him I wanted him to even though I didn't.
After that he started looking around.
He ended up going to CMU all the way in Pittsburg! It practically killed my to have my best friend move almost all the way across the country, but I knew that I was good for him.
This morning my mom and I were going hunting before Jacob came home this afternoon.
I ran downstairs to find my mom already dressed and ready standing next to the door.
Stupid non-sleeping vampire.
"Did you sleep well?" my mom asked in her sweet smooth voice.
"I barely slept I'm so excited!" I replied truthfully.
We ran outside the cozy cottage in to the moist green woods that soon became a blur.
After running for a few miles we stopped to catch the sent of any near by pray.
"Nessie" my mom asked slowly.
"Yes"
"you know you haven't seen Jacob in a while and now that you're a full adult don't be surprised if your relationship with Jacob changes when he gets back."
What was she talking about? Did Jacob plan on bring home a girlfriend or something?!
Is he happy in Pittsburg and doesn't want to leave?!
"What do you mean?" I really wanted to know!
"Well your father and I thought it was time to explain to you a little more about Jacob." She said hesitantly.
"IS HE OK" I yelled.
"No no, he's fine sweetie it's nothing like that. How do I say this? Have you ever heard the saying love at first sight?"
what was she getting at?
"Yeah but what does that have to do with Jacob?"
"Well you see Jacob and the rest of the pack have a very different way of falling in love called imprinting. When they imprint they instantly are in love with that person no matter who they are, what their age is , or what they look like. And you see when you were first born Jacob imprinted….. On you."
"….. WHAT"
SERIOLISY WHAT. I always loved Jake, but I never thought of it in that way.
"I know it's hard to understand sweetie but it's going to be ok. We just wanted you to know"
and with that she ran into the woods after a herd of elk.
Leaving me their frozen in place.
