My take on Scorpius/Rose, and Ron's reaction.
"Dad?" Rose asked nervously.
"Yes, sweetheart?"
"Can I talk to you, please?"
"Of course Rosie," Ron replied. "You know you can always talk to me. Come on over."
"Well," Rose began hesitantly, "I've got a boyfriend."
"You whaa-" Ron caught himself just in time. Rose was 15 now, it was only to be expected, Hermione had told him. "Oh, okay Rose- um, will I like him? Is he nice? Who're his parents? Do I know them? Does Albus know him?"
"Dad..." Rose stopped the barrage of questions. "I think you'll like him, I like him; Albus is friends with him; yes, you know his parents-"
Here Rose looked a bit guilty, but Ron didn't notice. He knew Albus was a nice, sensible boy (Heaven knows where he inherited that from, Ron thought), so if he was friends with the kid, the boy was probably okay.
"So who is he?" Ron asked. He was very pleased with his self control so far, Hermione hadn't thought that he would be able to keep his temper.
"Erm, Scorpius,"
Scorpius, I know that name - Scorpius - where have I heard it before...
"Scorpius - Malfoy."
"What?" Ron roared, his self control had flown straight out of the window, clearly. Hermione came rushing up the stairs to see what had happened, but Ron ignored her. "Malfoy? He tried to KILL me, your MOTHER and Uncle HARRY! He's a SLYTHERIN! What in MERLIN'S name were you THINKING?"
Rose winced. She'd seen her father angry before, of course, but it had never been directed at her.
"Dad, listen. Scorpius isn't the Malfoy that you know. He isn't even in Slytherin, he's in Ravenclaw."
"HE'S A MALFOY!"
"Dad, you're acting like one of those pure-blood-maniac-Death-Eaters. Please, just look past the name. He's a very nice boy, really. Please?"
"Rose, you're my only daughter. And a Malfoy! You - you can't!"
"A nice Malfoy," Rose corrected firmly. "Dad, he looks like his father, but Scor -pius isn't really like him at all! He wasn't sorted into Slytherin, was he? And I like him, and Albus likes him-" Rose took a deep breath, "and I'm planning on inviting him over for tea or something soon."
"WHAT? This is MY house, young lady-"
"But would you prefer me to date a Malfoy you've never met" - Rose was playing her trump card- "or a boy you've met and liked? Because I am dating him and I will date him." She crossed her arms triumphantly, daring her father to argue.
Ron stuttered, and gasped, and attempted to form coherent words, but in the end retreated to the landing, where Hermione was.
Hermione quickly tugged him away to their bedroom, before Ron could think of a reply to his daughter.
"Well done, Ron," she praised him. "I think, on the whole, you handled it pretty well."
A/N Please review! Thanks very much to my two lovely reviewers. It doesn't matter if you just write: '4 stars, add more adjectives next time' or 'I liked/hated your story', or a really long in-depth one, just please review! If I get enough reviews, I will remove this authors note, as it is probably really annoying.
Sorry about that.
