It was a particular cold night; the moon shined bright giving off the only
light around. The trees howled and seemed to talk to you, beckoning you,
saying "Come closer, come play". The snow lay lightly on the ground, and
the sounds of the nocturnal animals echoed in the distance.
But there she was like every night so far, walking in the distance down a
small path way in the woods. Zoey was her name. She hummed to herself a
happy little tune, one she knew from the olden country. She like many times
before was hard to see in the darkness. Dressed in a dark cloak and you
couldn't see any part of her body at all. The only way you could tell any
one was there was by her eyes, which undoutably shined like two stars.
There was a small opening in the pathway that led to a small waterfall, its
water shinned like bright silver in the moon light. She entered the area
and sat down on a small rock and dipped her fingers into the water
"Vie been waiting for you for quite some time" said a deep male voice from
near her. "Where have you been" he asked his tone serious. But he still
didn't show himself.
At the sound of the mans voice she gave a short gasp, but then quickly
realized who it was. "I am now you pet Nathan. Nor am I one of your prized
pieces of property that you so commonly brag about. I am a human being."
She said in a harsh, cold voice. "I if you must know was at the cabin"
He finally stepped into the moonlight, He was a tall man, with handsome
features, His hair was dark, and his eyes were a violent shade of silver
which in the moon light stood out. But she didn't look at him. She
couldn't, she wouldn't dare to.
"Like so many times before Miss. James, Your tone is not appreciated, nor
is it welcome." He said in a huff "I was worried" he said putting a hand on
her shoulder "You promised to meet me at 10 and it is 12 now"
She quickly brushed his hand off his shoulder "Don't touch me" she snapped
"I come and go as a please and there is nothing you can do to stop me from
that Mr. McMaster" Her tone still sharp and cold. She turned and gently
pulled down the hood to her cape finally revealing herself. She had long
straight silver hair, which gave off the sweet aroma of peppermint and
vanilla. Her eyes like his were pure silver. Her lips were cherry red.
"Forgive me Nathan I am not myself tonight" she said in a different tone,
this one sweet and kind "Grandma was restless tonight, I had to wait till
she went to sleep"
He took her in his arms but she pushed herself away quickly "Not tonight?"
he asked as he tilted his head "Tis okay."
She smiled at him "We keep our relationship to a mere friendship at the
moment." She said in the same sweet tone "I have no time for romance" she
added
He smiled..."okay darling... okay" he tried to keep his smile and his soft
tone. But he couldn't help being disappointed. It must have shown in his
expression, because she gently brought her hand up and caressed his cheek.
After a while of them talking it started to snow. "I have to be going now"
she said in a soft but disappointed voice. And she put her hood up and
started to slowly walk away.
But before she could get to far away, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her
close to him. He then leaned down and kissed her. They kissed for quite a
long time. But when they ended the kiss he smiled and started into her
eyes. He brought a hand up to caress her cheek and brush some stands of
hair that had fallen into her face. "Do you know how long I've been waiting
to do this?" he asked in a mysteriously romantic voice.
