This is my first fanfic, i hope you enjoy it. It's Finchel, a couple I totally ship and I hope I've managed to do Glee justice. It's really short but I hope you enjoy it...

After Sectionals, New Directions got into the bus back to school. They were filled with happiness, a sense of hope and, well, direction that they'd never had before.

Only one person's smile didn't reach right to their eyes - that person being Finn Hudson. Ever since Quinn's confession three days previous, he hadn't been the same. Before, Finn Hudson had hope. He had dreams. He had smiles for the gleeks and the jocks, a special smile for Quinn and her baby, and a secret smile for Rachel Berry. Now all he had was a hurt look in his eyes and a look of being heartbroken. He didn't get back onto the bus with New Directions. He didn't think even he could stand being in such a contained space with his ex best friend, his ex girlfriend and his ex baby.

"Rach! Will you get in the car back with me?" He tapped Rachel on the back and her smile grew bigger.

"Of course I'll ride back with you, Finn"

Rachel grabbed his hand, and they walked to the car together in a slightly awkward silence. The car got started and they headed back to school.

"So, Rach. I just wanted to tell you a couple of things. First of all, thank you for being the only member of glee club who told me the truth. It means a lot to me, and you proved to me you are the only true friend I have."

"No, Finn-" She blushed a deep pink, but Finn shushed her and carried on.

"Shush, Rach. You talk too much! Secondly, I wanted to say sorry for my rubbish pep talk before you went on. 'Don't screw it up?!' C'mon, I know I'm stupid and not very good with words, but that must have really put the pressure. Not like it mattered, because Rach, you blew me away. You were incredible, it was the best I'd ever heard you sing! Like, I would totally rather hear you sing that all day then listen to my rock stuff. It was cool, Rach."

The car was silent for a moment, but this time a comfortable one. Finn smiled.

"Well that's the first time I ever heard Rachel Berry speechless!"

"I love you!" Rachel seemed to regret this immediately and slammed her hand over her mouth.

"Y'know what Rach? I think I could really start to love you too!"

The car pulled up outside the school, and Finn pressed his lips to Rachel's… where they always belonged.
