Hi everyone. Yes, it's me again. Prompt fics are a thing with me now so I may be writing stories more often. I hope you like this one-shot.

Tyson and Hilary were sitting at the kitchen table at the Granger dojo with a big bag of candy hearts between them. It was their five year anniversary and they had spent the day going out as they always did on that day and had just gotten back from the department store. It had been Tyson's idea to get the candy hearts, though Hilary didn't know why yet.

"I'm still shocked that you bought these," Hilary said.

Tyson shrugged. "They taste good. Plus, it's our anniversary so I thought they were appropriate."

Hilary gave her boyfriend a disbelieving look. "But you always said you hated those cheesy sayings on the hearts."

"I do and I know you're not too fond of them either. That's why I thought that we could read them to each other and laugh about what we see on them."

Hilary giggled. "I suppose it could be fun. And we can eat them later."

Tyson took out one of the candies and handed it to Hilary.

"UR Sweet" Hilary read. She laughed. "Well, thanks. You can be sweet too when you want to be."

Tyson smirked. "I don't know if I should be flattered or insulted."

"You can be both." She took out one and handed it to him.

"Text me. I wouldn't bother calling you or texting you. I'd just come over."

"Funny, since I'm over here far more than you're over at my house."

"Hey, I've asked you to move in many times but you always say no."

"And you know why."

He handed her another candy heart. "Be mine. Well, you don't have to ask me that," Hilary said, smiling. Tyson smiled back.

She handed him one. "Love Bug. I always found that phrase stupid but strangely accurate."

"How so?" Hilary asked.

"It's a cutesy way of saying that love is like a disease and in some ways it is. It infects you and takes you over and makes you start saying and doing things you never would normally."

"Well personally, I've always hated it. When people use it as a pet name, it just rubs me the wrong way. I don't even know why."

"Maybe because you have a fear of bugs?" Tyson asked, smirking.

Hilary smirked back. "You wish. I kill bugs just as often as you do."

Tyson reached into the bag and rummaged around until he found the one he wanted and handed it to her.

"Marry me." Hilary smiled. "If I didn't know better, I'd almost think you were actually proposing to me."

Tyson looked down and laughed nervously. "Yeah…"

Hilary took out a candy heart and gave it to him. "You're Cute." He smiled at her. "You think I'm more than just cute right?"

She giggled. "Yes, you're much more than just cute."

Tyson rummaged through the bag again and handed her a heart with the same message as the previous one. Before she could say anything, Tyson reached into the bag again and gave her a third heart that said 'Marry me'. Hilary started at her boyfriend, confused by his actions. He didn't say anything. He got up from the chair and walked over to her before getting down on one knee. Hilary's breath caught in her throat as she realized what was happening. Tyson took out a small black box and opened it revealing a sparkling diamond ring with a huge oval-shaped ruby in the center.

"Hilary, we've been together for a long time and have been through a hell of a lot together. You've supported me and stuck by me through everything, even when I was a total jerk and you would've been perfectly justified in cutting me out of your life. You're a wonderful girl and more than I deserve. I know I don't say it enough, but I love you. Will you marry me?"

Tears were already running down her cheeks. She smiled and barely managed to squeak out a "Yes." Tyson put the ring on her finger and stood up. Hilary threw her arms around him and hugged him tight. He hugged her back.

"I love you too," she whispered before pulling away so she could see his face. "I cannot believe you used candy hearts to propose."

"There was a reason I said they were appropriate for today." They leaned in and kissed tenderly. Tyson pulled away and held her close. "Happy Anniversary Hil."
