I got this prompt from lontanissima: "the prompt is "purple" what I mean, it can be a dress, a tie, a feeling or whatever come to your mind with Shandy Purple Love. Only Shandy, no rusty or the squad hhahahah"
I gotta admit it stumped me for a good long while and I was like o.O and spent some time glaring at a blank screen and blinking cursor but here it is in all it's glory... Idk you guys tell me.
Disclaimer: Not my characters, they just like play around in my head and taunt me... I'll put 'em back when I'm finished unscathed and such things I'm supposed to say in one of these...
"Snuck away early?" Andy pushed the door closed behind him.
Sharon turned to look at him, "Yeah I just thought I should put this in a safe place," She shook the green box at him.
"You liked it?" He rubbed the back of his neck as he walked closer to her.
Her face lit up, "I loved it. Where did you find an angel ornament with a purple sash, not exactly festive."
"I saw it when I was at the mall with Nicole, we were shopping and it caught my eye. Reminded me of you."
She stepped closer to him, "It's my favorite color."
"I know."
He knew a lot about her, her favorite color only the beginning of the list. A list that contained: what she liked to eat, her birthday, her kids' birthdays, her favorite classic movie, and the music required for every mood.
He had watched her go through her daily decompress- blazer off, heels next, putting on her cardigan last. He even knew what kind of day she was having based on the tea she was drinking at the office.
In her fifty plus years of life Sharon didn't think there was anybody who knew her so well, not even Gavin and he was her best friend. Of course she knew all those things about Andy as well. Over the past year they had shared a lot with each other.
She placed the box on the table, "It's beautiful," She looked back at him, smiling, he was standing closer.
"I'm glad you like it." He was smiling back at her, his face beaming.
They were in the same moment they had been in twenty minutes prior. Only Sharon had no handy excuses to avoid it this time. No kids to herd back into festivities. Said festivities were wrapping up in the other room. And he was standing so close...
"Andy..."
He tugged at his ear, "Yeah?"
She lost her nerve looking down, he was close enough to fiddle with his tie, so she did. She couldn't see his face but she knew he'd still be smiling. He did that a lot around her. The hairs on the back of her neck bristled with the growing tension.
She looked up at him again, giving her neck a little roll, "What are we doing," The fiddling stopped as she held onto his tie.
He shrugged. "I'm not exactly sure, but I like it."
A simple tug of his tie and they were kissing and it was like she had taken a huge sigh of relief. The thinking done, the action followed through, the tension broken, only to build into something new.
The kiss broke with them smiling at each other, warm and full. She pushed out the breath she was holding, aware of the flush spreading up her neck, into her face. His hands were caressing her cheekbones. The way he looked at her was too much, it was first crush feelings all over again. Her hands moved to his lapels, pulling him closer, as she settled her head on his chest.
One of Andy's hands went to the back of her head, his other arm wrapping around her middle.
He kissed the top of her head, "I definitely like it."
