Set after: A Christmas Carol

With only a phone I found him. It took me several years and a lot of effort, but somehow I did it. I found him.

John Smith or "Doctor .5" hadn't lived very long. He thought at the time it was because even though he was human his brain wasn't, it was more powerful, and it was the brain of a Time Lord. It tricked his body into thinking that he needed two hearts to survive.

It had been so many years since I had seen the other Doctor. His eyes had been teary as he had left me in the arms of another, a half Doctor - One I loved, but never like him.

I do not understand how it took me so long to remember the number to the TARDIS.

It was on New Year's Day of 2011 when I called him. I heard a different voice, when he had picked up – but knew it to be him when he mentioned his title.

"Doctor speaking," he had said, his voice cheerful. Somehow seeing as my life never really moved on I never thought that his would have too. Of course in the back of my mind I knew this would be true, that his life keeps on moving. Sarah Jane Smith had told me this when she and the Doctor had crossed paths once again.

"Doctor, it's Rose," I had responded, my voice was shaking terribly. My palms were sweating and I could feel my knees wobbling. I was so nervous.

"Rose," his voice was strained as he spoke my name.

"Doctor," I said once again, still trying to get the fact through my own head that it really was him on the phone. "Would you come visit me?" I asked my voice cracking.

"You know I can't, parallel universe."

"I escaped."

"Again?" he said, in his voice somehow I could hear a smile spread across his face, a face I would not recognize.

"Yes, again," I said, a smile spreading across my face

"Rose I am different now, I look so different" said the Doctor.

"Please" I said, begging. "I am in my old apartment"

I turned around as the noise of the TARDIS began to sound behind me, appearing in my living room. The TARDIS had a large area to land, seeing as I hadn't bothered to buy much furniture - a bed in my bedroom and enough food in the fridge was all I really needed. There in all its blue box glory sat the TARDIS. A box that I had missed terribly, I stood still. Waiting for it to open, scared for what would walk out those doors.

First out came a red headed girl, her hair long. Her face had several freckles and she was wearing a police uniform. Out next came a man, wearing a roman costume his hand entwined with hers. I didn't care about their entwined hands I ran towards my new Doctor, spreading my arms out and catching myself on him.

"I've missed you so much," I said, as I kissed his cheek several times

"Ahh, excuse me" said the red headed girl. "Would you please get off my husband?"

The word husband shocked me. The Doctor had married, and so quickly...maybe it had been thousands of years for him, or maybe only hundreds. Had I been so easy to get over? I never thought marriage would be on his mind, but yet maybe on this new doctor it was.

"I'm Rory by the way" said the man in the Roman costume, as he put out his hand.

"You go by Rory now? What about the Doctor, or was that your real name all along. The one I was never allowed to hear?"

"No of course not, I am not the Doctor he is," said Rory pointing behind me.

I turned around to see a man, wearing a tweed jacket, suspenders and a bow tie.

"Doctor?" I said, unsure not wanting to make a fool out of myself once again.

"Yes."
