Riding Lesson

Summary: With a gift for Moses and needing to learn to ride, Ramses offers to teach him. Who would have expected the littlest prince to be a natural?

Big round brown eyes with flakes of green, Moses stares at the yearling in front of him. He can see this young stallion is spirited and a bit unsure. He turns to Ramses besides him who smiles at him.

"Ready for your lesson, Moses," Ramses ask bouncing on the balls of his feet as his little brother nod happily. "Good now let's meet your new horse. What are you going to call him?"

"Hm…I don't know," Moses said feeling a little unsure while the horse stares at him for a moment before nuzzling him making him giggles, "River."

"River?" Ramses questions looking unsure of the choice of the name his brother chosen for his horse though it seems the dark brown yearling gives him a dark look as its prideful blue eyes stares him down.

"Yeah his eyes, big brother since they remind me of the Nile," Moses explains with a bashful smile.

"Okay," the older boy answers shrugging it off before helping his brother on his new pet. "Hold the reins gently and not too hard since he is rather soft mouth I think."

Moses tilts his head feeling the breathing of River matching his own. He looks up seeing the small stretch of desert in front of him. For some reason he instinctively leans forward as his brother prattles on with his lesson. His feet lightly tap River's sides and soon they are off in a simple trot.

"Moses!" Ramses shouts seeing the horse take off but mouth drops hearing Moses's laughter and the stable hands comments of a natural rider before he gets on his own horse following the laughing boy who seems to urge his new horse to go faster.

It takes a few minutes for Ramses to catch up but by then his smile is matching his brother. The two laugh as they race around the small patch as Ramses shows Moses some tips how to handle the rein and it seems like a beautiful and wonderful day for the two.
