"You look worried." Remus Lupin whirled around to look at the young male voice that had spoken behind him. It was a boy with dark hair and glasses. He had his head cocked to the side and an amused but concerned expression on his face, and Remus immediately took a liking to him.

"Food always helps me when I'm feeling odd." He offered Remus a small package. "Have a sandwich. I have loads!"

"I'm James. James Potter."

Remus was scared to meet new people. He had been since he was a tiny child. But he felt a connection to this boy. Like he would understand.

"I'm Remus Lupin. Thank you. I am quite hungry." They walked together to the train, both waving goodbye to their parents and stepped onto the train. "Where do you want to go?" James asked. "How about there?" he pointed to an compartment with a two boys in. One with glossy hair and a endlessly confident look in his face, and a small mousy boy with blonde hair and a large nose.

They entered the compartment, and the boys looked up. The glossy haired boy looked up, and seemed to accept Remus and James. The other boy stood up and almost ran over to them.

"Hi guys! I'm Peter Pettigrew! Nice to meet you!" He had a high squeaky voice and a sucking up attitude. Remus could tell he just wanted to be accepted by someone.

Not unlike himself.

The other boy hardly looked at them when he said, "My name is Sirius Black. And you are?"

"I'm James Potter, and this is Remus Lupin. We met on the platform just now. May we sit down?"

Sirius Black nodded, and they sat down. Remus a little away from everyone, and the other three already buddy-buddy.

"Well! Are you excited for the sorting?" Peter said with enthusiasm, and no one replied. He deflated, and then kept talking. "Cause i sure am. I wonder what house I'll be in? I hope it's not Slytherin, but i wouldn't mind Hufflepuff. I'm sure I'm not Ravenclaw, but Gryffindor is not that likely. What about you?" He looked at James, clearly having taken a liking to him.

"I'll be in Gryffindor, like my dad." A greasy haired boy walked in, behind a confident red haired girl who had clearly been crying not long before. They sat down next to one another and murmured to each other.

"Gryffindor?" Sirius scoffed. "My whole family has been in slytherin."

"And i thought you were all right!" said James, although jokingly.

"I'll might be the one breaking the tradition. I'm not a slytherin type of person." a silence ensued after this comment, Remus and Peter looking back and fourth between the two bigger boys.

"Gryffindor would be the lowest of the low, try not to get into there." the greasy haired boy muttered through the silence to the red haired girl.

"Severus! SHH!" said she, looking at the four boys, all looking at her.

"Lily, I don't care about what they think!"

James let out a low whistle, making Sirius laugh.

"you are quite pretty, my young Lily." Commented James, making himself sound like an older man.

The greasy haired boy-Severus?- narrowed his eyes and stood up. He was short. Lily followed suit, but dragged him out of the room.

"Let's go, Severus!" She said.

"See ya later, SNIVELLUS!" Said James. Sirius high fived them.
