Leo had been thinking about Calypso too much. Everything reminded him of her. The fresh scent of linen, the salty sea air. He couldn't stand being apart. Leo wasn't much of a guy for believing in fate but this had to be. They both had relationship problems, and they both were the odd one out, it was perfect. The only way he could carry on was to avert his attention to the only other thing he loved, machines. That still couldn't keep his mind off her, she was like the one and only machine Leo couldn't figure out and that's saying something noting that he was the son of Hephaestus.

The Argo II had taken a beating on their way to Epirus, so he had to get to work repairing the ship. Some of the oars had broken off and it certainly needed a new paint job. Plus, on top of that he had the constant memories of Calypso tugging at his brain stretching it to it's limit. He got to work letting his hands work and turning off his brain. Soon most of the oars were fixed and the Argo II had a new coat of paint.

He stood on the upper deck staring out into the infinite sea when Piper came along asking him an odd question, "Do you maybe, ya know, want to have dinner together tonight. Leo knew that Piper knew about Calypso, she did have an eye for that sort of thing, being the daughter of Aphrodite and all. Leo knew that Piper had meant it in a friendly sort of way instead of it being a date. Piper already had a boyfriend, Jason, which was also Leo's best friend. Leo turned her down but Piper wasn't taking no for an answer. "Look it's just gonna be us I haven't had time to talk to you much and I feel as if I'm failing as a friend." Piper hated using charmspeak on a friend but she had to talk to Leo. "Why not, I guess all the lady's do love Leo!" Piper rolled her eyes and playfully punched Leo in the arm.

Piper's cabin smelled like cinnamon. She had laid out paper plates with hamburgers on them, plastic dixie cups filled with... grape juice? She did a great job of destroying the romance factor, to Leo that was a relief. "So, how are you and Jason,?" questioned Leo "Hey, I ask the questions here," Piper said this like it was a touchy subject when Leo was almost certain that they were doing just fine, and what did she mean by I ask the questions. "What about Calypso..." Piper knew she was treading dangerous territory but Leo didn't seem the least bit surprised that she knew about it. "Well-" Leo was interrupted by a soft knock on the door. "Piper can we please talk about last night?" It was Jason. To Leo's surprise Piper said, "I'm having dinner with Leo, just leave me alone, ok" There was a few seconds of silence than he heard footsteps growing softer. "What was that all about," Leo chattered. "Let's just say that me and Jason are having some issues," Piper paused then continued, "Maybe, you should go Leo... it was nice just the two of us we should do it again sometimes.
