A/N For him it was all too bittersweet, he saw her happiness, but couldn't revel in it the way he wanted to, because he knew the bitter end would come all too soon. Teddy/Lily A-Z fic series: So, here we are, at the letter B, some info if you haven't read Addicted yet, this is an A-Z story line thing, in the point of view of either Lily or Teddy. Some are depressing, some are happy, but most are ironically (if you notice the title) bittersweet.
~Told in the Point of View of Teddy Remus Lupin~
He watched her laugh, a sight that should have made his heart swell with happiness, but it didn't. Not this time.
Instead his heart constricted, as though a heavy, cold weight had fallen onto his chest.
All good things must come to an end...
And this was the best thing, the most treasured occurrence in his life up until this point...maybe, he could only hope, he hadn't reached the point of no return quite yet.
Maybe there was still time to save this moment from its ultimate destruction...
He closed his eyes, savoring the moment, her perfect laugh, her perfect face, because he knew if he didn't put an end to it now, something else would.
It always does.
And he did not want to be around when it did, he didn't want his last memory of her to be tear stained. He wanted it to be this one, a memory full of love and abundant with felicity.
It was a moment of pure bittersweet feeling, much like when one tastes dark chocolate, it is intoxicating, it's untouched by imperfection, but yet marked by it.
A perfect imperfection, it was what she was.
Lily was imperfection, perfected.
So, he smiled to himself, allowing his mind to take a photo of the picturesque scene in front of him, so he would always remember, so the memory would continue to dwell with him, a never ending show of happiness.
But what goes up, must come down...
It's a rule of nature.
But then again, since when did Lily play by the rules?
A/N So, tell me how it was, reviews are greatly appreciated (notice the emphasis on greatly) And also keep in mind I take requests, next up is C..
