When Grindelwald was taken into custody, all of his clothing and personal effects had been confiscated as evidence, including a small silver card case. The Niffler, who had bedsitting in its gilded nest in the depths of News case, zeroed in on the small silver box at almost the sinstant the card case and magical menagerie were in the same room. Most in the room payed the small fuzzy black beast no mind, seeing as the equation "Niffler" + "Nearest Shiny Object" tended to equal "Stolen Shiny Object". Newt, however, knew better. Or at least he did after the Niffler's fourth attempt at procuring the small case.

Getting the case from the Niffler proved to be as much of a challenge as it always did, but once the Niffler was (securely) back in the case Newt gave the silver box a closer inspection.

The card case was to newts eye about two inches by three inches and about two centimeters deep, and while it was made out of silver, it was tarnished and had little shine to it – hardly the Nifflers normal choice of shiny. Flipping the case open, Newt expected to see business cards. Instead there was a flash of light and Newt found a heavily beaten, very bloody, and oh so familiar face at his feet.

"Tina!" Newt cried, dropping to his knees to check the man's pulse – faint, erratic, but there.

"We need a healer, now!"

Percival Graves, with chunks of hair missing and cuts littering his body, looked like hell.
