"What the hell? Is this some kind of joke!"

A blond haired boy asked angrily.

"Why do we have to go after some stupid kid who ran away from home!" He exclaimed as his blue eyes darted around the room, looking at all the others who were staring blankly at him, "Why...is...everyone looking at me like I'm an...idiot?" He asked meekly.

"Cause you are an idiot, idiot!" His female companion's voice rang out, "We're not just going after any old kid. Konohamaru, the Third Hokage's grandson was kidnapped!"

"Wha...? Konohamaru..." It took several short minutes for the name to click in his head, "...OH! Him? What happened? Who took him!"

Naruto's bright blue eyes coldened as they settles on Tsunade, the Fith Hokage.

"We don't know, Naruto. That's why we're sending your team after him." The Hokage sighed deeply as she looked Naruto in the eye, then did the same to everyone else in his team. "This is a B-Rank mission. Almost an A-Rank. Don't, mess this up."

"Um...Naruto?"

"What!" He snapped as the blond's cold blue eyes shifted over to Sakura.

"It's fine," She told him with a soft smile, "We'll bring Konohamaru back. But it won't help if your sulking the whole way there."

It's true. Naruto had been sulking. Ever since they left the village and started on the mission Naruto had been walking in cold silence as the rest of his team talked back and forth. He was even quieter then his rival, Sasuke.

"Sorry..." He mumbled looking away slightly. Out of the corner of his eye he caught sight of Sasuke smirking and his Jounin Sensei, Kakashi. Who was as always, reading his book, Come Come Paradise.

"What the hell are you looking at!"

"You and your stupidity." Sasuke answered calmly. The raven haird boy watched Naruto for a moment before turning and continueing walking.

"Why you--"

"Naruto stop it!" Sakura cut him off quickly as he green eyes glared slightly at the boy.

He quietly apologized again as his head tilted down slightly. Ashamed at how he was acting. It stayed like that untill a soft growl was heared. His stomach. but for once the Leaf Genin ignored it. He had a mission to complete. A firend to rescue. A duty to do. A never before said promise to keep. Naruto lifted his head and grinned slyly to himself as he started to walk on. They were right, he shouldn't be down and depressed not when he had a chance to turn his bad mood around. Not when he had a chance to save the Third Hokage's grandson.

"Ready?" He called to his team, "Let's go!" He shouted as he extended a fisted hand towards the sky. His Sensei and friends smiling softly as they followed him.

"Come on brat, hurry it up!"

"Uhn..."

Konohamaru stumbled along after his captors, hands tied behind his back. The boy had scratches all over his small body along with smudges of dirt. He clearly struggled and tried to defend himself but failed. It's ok, someone will come and get me...right? He thought to himself as his eyes darted up to the six men around him.

Konohamaru had been close to tears the whole time. The only thing that kept him from crying was the memory of Naruto who would never had cried in this situation. I...I'll be strong, like him!

When Konohamaru and his captorsfinally stopped it was near sundown. By now the boy had been gagged and was now thrown aside away from the fire with nothing but a grass mat for warmth.

He had heard the men talking about a suprise they planned to leave in the morning in case anyone was following them. A few had pointed at Konohamaru and they all laughed. But the poor boy couldn't figure out what they were going to do untill they started showing off their blades and weapons...
