Note: It's my first english fanfiction ever, and I'm brazilian, so maybe there's some grammatical errors. I highly recommend to listen the song (Saturn - Sleeping at last).
You taught me the courage of stars before you left
How light carries on endlessly, even after death
With shortness of breath, you explained the infinite
How rare and beautiful it is to even exist
I couldn't help but ask
For you to say it all again
I tried to write it down
But I could never find a pen
I'd give anything to hear
You say it one more time
That the universe was made
Just to be seen by my eyes
Saturn - Sleeping at last
"I'm sorry".
And then, there was nothing but an empty space where once had lain a kid, his kid.
The wind trew away the ashes mercilessly, taking Peter away from his embrace, leaving a hole in his heart, in his soul.
"I am the one to apologize" thought Tony, holding the last few ashes in his hands, hoping that the simple act would make it be put together again, hoping that the pieces would fit in again to form the most pure, brave, selfless and joyful kid in the universe like those damn legos he loved so much.
If it was his way, it would happen. Then he would apologize. Apologize for not saying how much the kid meant to him, how much happiness and light Peter's smile could bring to his life, how many lessons he learnt from him. He would say that he loved him like a son, even when they didn't have the same blood. They had the same heart.
"You're alright"
The most terrible lie he ever told. The kid was gone and it felt like he was too.
