This story was written when a thought came into my head: What was Gregory thinking of after he put the rock back to Mrs. Daniel's garden?

This is an extended ending to the last episode of Over the Garden Wall.

Onto the story.

After putting the rock back to Mrs. Daniels' garden, Greg follows Wirt, who was walking back home.

"I can't wait to show my other tapes, including that "one" to Sara!" thought Wirt, excited. However, he notices Greg, who had a saddened look.

"What's wrong, Greg?"

"I still feel guilty of stealing that rock from Mrs. Daniel."

"Oh, Greg. Don't let that guilt overcome you. You still did the right thing, bringing the rock back."

"I just feel like I want to do something for her."

"Like what?"

Greg asks Wirt to walk closer to him, and he whispered what he wanted to do. Wirt slowly smiled.

"That sounds like a good idea. Why don't you do it now?"

"Okay." said Greg.

They both found a rock near their house, and picked it up. They brought the rock back to the house and, using some art materials, Greg draws a face on the rock. The rock had eyes with eyelashes, and with an open mouth with its tongue sticking out a little bit.

He created a female rock.

He and Wirt went back to Mrs. Daniel's house, and knocked on the front door. Mrs. Daniel opened the door.

"Why if it isn't Wirt and Greg. What can I do for you?"

"Well, little old lady, I want to put this rock in your garden. It feels like a good place to put it in." said Greg.

"That's very sweet of you, Greg. Sure, you can do it. And please don't call me an old lady."

"Okay, young man." said Greg. Both Wirt and Greg go to the garden, and Greg puts the female rock next to the male rock that Greg put back.

"Alright, we're done. Let's go home." said Wirt.

"You go on ahead. I want to say something to the rock."

"Sure…" said Wirt, with a confused face. However, he just shrugged and went back to the house, while Greg was saying his goodbyes to the rock he put back.

"Well rock, it's time for me to go. We had some good times, and some rock facts, but now, I had to do the right thing. But I don't want you to feel lonely, so I gave you this female rock." said Greg.

Greg then stood up, and left Mrs. Daniels' garden with a smile on his face, to play with his pet frog Jason Funderberker. But one thought came into his head as he was walking back home:

"It doesn't matter if we are separated. What matters…is that he will always be in my heart…and that's…a rock fact."

THE END.

And that's my extended ending for Over the Garden Wall. What did you think of this ending? I'll see you all in the next story.
