It had been a while since they'd gone shopping for supplies with one another. When the brunette called so early in the morning it had been easy to find fatigue and surprise in the others voice.
"Eri, wanna go over to 104 with me later today?" Shiki's voice proceeded to ring out from the phone's speaker." I need to pick up some new threads and I heard from Ayu there's a sale at D+B.
"So--" There was no need to continue.
"A SALE! They never have sales! I'll be right over!"
The phone call ended with a meeting at 104 set up and ready to go. Shiki had spent all night deciding what she would say to Eri and was now readying herself for their first meeting since the Game. On the other hand Eri was now contemplating how she was going apologize to Shiki for what she had said the day before. Shiki looked crestfallen when Eri said she wasn't cut out for designing. But now she would say she was positively sorry for what she said and life would go on.
As the two got ready for their meeting they tried not to think of what was coming.
The girls met up in front of 104 at ten o'clock.
"Let's go! I don't want to miss this sale!" Eri claimed.
"All right. Let's go!" Shiki said and headed for the entrance. Eri quickly stopped her.
"Wait, Shiki there's something I need to tell you." Shiki remembered what she had heard Eri say while she was in the Game with Neku. Eri meant she was better off being a seamstress. She had been so relieved to hear those words.
"It's okay Eri, I understand."
"No, I want to say that I'm sorry. I'm sorry for what I said to you yesterday. I feel really bad about it. I didn't mean to hurt you. It feels like I haven't seen you for weeks! It's just... I'm sorry." Eri hung her head disdainfully.
Shiki just smiled. "I know you didn't mean it. I forgive you."
"Yeah. Bu-"
"No buts. Now hurry up! There won't be anything left there at the pace we're going."
Eri looked up and smiled blithely.
"Yeah."
As the two girls walked through those doors to D+B they knew they were closer than ever.
