It had been exactly one year since Sophie had saved Howl by returning his heart to his chest, and life had taken a wonderful turn. For the first time in Sophie's life she had someone who desired her, someone who looked at her with the same kindness she had inside her. Now the day she had been waiting for had finally come, her and Howl's wedding day.

"Oh Sophie you look beautiful" cried Lettie as she pinned up Sophie's twilight hair.

"I hope Howl will think so..." replied Sophie. Sophie never did believe she was pretty, but as long as Howl loved her she was okay with how she was.

Howl sat in the grooms room waiting for the ceremony to start, he had never been ready so fast in all his life. However on this day he could not be late, after all this day would make him the happiest wizard for the rest of his life. His suit was as black as night and was made of the finest material with golden trim and buttons to match.

Sophie and Howl's love was strong from the beginning and in just one year it had grown to be a love that most people could only dream of. Often filled with passion and a mutual respect, they took care of each other with grace and patience.

"Sophie its time!" her mother said as she popped her head in the door. With a deep breathe Sophie stood in her golden dress, ready to begin the rest of her life. Her dress flowed off her as if made of water, fitting her perfectly she looked like a fairy-tale.

The music began to play and Howl took his place in front of the minister feeling his heart beat rather fast, a feeling he had almost gotten used to with Sophie around. And then he saw her. Howl felt as if his heart may beat right out of his chest, she was more than beautiful, and she was his.

Sophie, led by her mother down the isle, took her place across from Howl. He was so handsome, so kind. How did she ever manage to earn his love?

The minister began the ceremony and called upon Howl to speak his vows.

Howl looked at Sophie who gazed up at him, waiting patiently. So he began...

"Sophie, may I just say how beautiful you are to me. It would only make sense that the love of my life saves my heart and has the ability to stop it with her beauty. I promise that I will love you until the end of my days, I promise to protect you from whatever obstacle comes our way. You will never be sad , but only happy when I am with you. I give myself to you Sophie for my heart has always belonged to you." Howl placed his hand on Sophie's face and traced the line of her jaw, gently picking up her other hand and placing a ruby ring on it.

Sophie's eyes brimmed with tears as she began her vows to Howl. "Howl, I knew from the first day I met you that I would end up in love. I promise to always support you and protect you. I promise to keep your heart safe because it seems I'm rather good at it. I promise that your happiness will always mean the world to me, and I will spend the rest of my days making you smile. You make me feel safe Howl, I can't imagine myself with anyone else." Tears flowed down Sophie's cheeks as she lifted Howl's hand and placed a silver ring with a small ruby on his finger.

"I now pronounce these two husband and wife" claimed the minister.

Howl turned to Sophie placing his hand on the small of her back and the other underneath her chin. Slowly raising her face to his he leaned forward. Howls lips gently touched Sophie's for a moment and then all at once they were bound in a passionate kiss. Their first kiss of the rest of their lives.
