"Mark! Can you please TAKE CARE OF THE BABY!?" She screamed from the bathroom.
He stomped in, holding Elizabeth. "I was calming her down until you started shouting!"
She held her arms out for her daughter, "Oh, shhh, sweetie, Mommy wasn't yelling at you, she was yelling at Daddy because he was letting you cry while Mommy was trying to get ready." She glared at her husband.
"Oh, come on, look, she's fine. She was just being a drama queen, like her mother." He said with that Sloan twinkle in his eye.
She smacked him on the arm. "Here, take her so I can finish getting dressed."
"Oh, but undressed is so much better."
"You be quiet." But nevertheless she gave him a kiss.

She got home from the hospital to find him cooking dinner, their daughter playing in the living room. "What's all this?"
"I got Lexie and Alex to agree to take Elizabeth tonight. They'll be here in fifteen minutes."
"Oh, really?"
"Yes, really. We'll have the house allll to ourselves. It'll be our first night alone." He pulled her in close.
"Yes…oh my God! It's going to be our first night without her! Her first night without us!"
He could see her start to panic, so he grabbed her hands. "Hey, hey! I think your sister and a pediatric surgeon can take care of her."
"I know, but-"
He cut her off with a kiss. "Relax. You need the night off. We need the night off."
"Fine. But only if you make me dessert."
"Oh now I'm not enough for you?"
She kinked her eyebrow, "You're going to be the cherry on top."
/
"Can we have makeup sex now?"
"No. You went behind my back today."
"Mark Sloan turning down sex? You are mad." After he frowned, she sighed and said, "Ok, playful not the way to go here. Look, you're right, I should have come to you first today instead of talking to Derek."
"Damn right you should have."
"And I'm sorry. Are you mad because it was Derek?"
"No! Of course not!" He said, a little too quickly.
"Because you know I love you, and only you."
He looked at her a minute, then pulled her down on the bed. "Always."

As he watched her sleep next to him, he still couldn't believe how lucky he had gotten. He didn't know what he had done to deserve her. He supposed he had Derek and Addison to thank for that. The four of them had a long, sordid history that had ended better than any of them could have expected.
He could hear Elizabeth start to stir over the monitor, waking his wife up. Before she could move, he put a hand on her to stop her. "I'll get her."
He rocked his daughter until she fell back asleep, then he simply sat with her in his arms. She was the most perfect thing he had ever seen. The second most perfect walked into the room and smiled at them. When they met she had been a beautiful, reckless intern in love with his best friend. And he had been a careless, arrogant man in love with his best friend's wife. Now she was the woman who had gotten him to finally settle down, and he was a father. He couldn't have asked for anything more.
