Hello, world o' Fanfiction! How you doiiinnn? XD
Anyway, I was randomly struck with the Malec(Magnus/Alec) feels. So, I started to write.
This turned out kinda short, and somewhat sad.
Lemme know what you think?:3
"Magnus?" Alec called out, after closing the door behind him.
"Who's there?" His voice was groggy, and Magnus sounded like he'd just crawled out of some dark hole in the middle of nowhere. His spiky hair was sticking out at all ends and some of the bright colors were gone. He was still in his pajamas, and he seemed robe half asleep.
"Who do you think?" Alec snapped bitterly.
Magnus suddenly snapped to attention. "Oh." He stiffly gestured to a small stack of boxes. "I took the liberty of gathering your things together. And, ah, I'll be needing my key back."
Alec nodded, his eyes burning. He didn't know what to expect when he'd headed over to Magnus' to collect his belongings. But he would not cry.
He reached into his pocket and brought out the small key. It was a perfection mirror of Magnus- multicolored and laced with glitter. "Here."
Magnus took the key and snapped, until it disappeared into oblivion. Alec didn't even bother asking. He knew it was magic, and he didn't want to be here longer than necessary. No matter how much he wanted to stay, unpack his things and just talk to Magnus like nothing had happened.
Like they hadn't broken up.
But they had, and no matter how much they both hated it, Magnus wasn't budging and they were done. Heartbreak was new to Alec, and this was a heartbreak that even centuries old Magnus hadn't felt before.
I'll get over it, Alec told himself as he balanced boxes in his arms, No I won't.
Either way, he soon had the boxes hastily thrown into back of a borrowed pick-up truck, before heading to get the smallest, and final, one of them from Magnus in the doorway.
Magnus passed the box to the blue-eyed Shadowhunter, who -for the first time Alec could remember- couldn't read the warlock's expression.
"Well..." he said, rather awkwardly. "See ya."
"See ya," Magnus replied. He looked like he wanted to say more, but when no other words were forthcoming Alec turned away, and for what felt like the end of all eternity, walked down the steps, to the car. He carefully placed the box in the passenger seat, before glancing up at Magnus' apartment building one more time. The High Warlock of Brooklyn was nowhere to be seen, as were his neighbors. The place looked rather peaceful... If it weren't for Chairman Meow in the window, purring at looking about. The poor cat's fur was spiked in all directions, and Alec thought he saw him shimmer when he moved. Ah, well...
"Goodbye Magnus. And, you can bet that we'll see each other again," Alec whispered to himself, and maybe the cat in the window, as he pressed down the gas pedal and drove in the general direction of the Institute.
