We used to be inseparable.

It was us against the Mum, James and Albus.

It was us against the world.

I was Daddy's little girl, through and through.

Every Saturday we used to go into the village and buy one of those muggle scratchy cards. The ones that cost £1 and you scratch away the protective coating to reveal whether you've won £10,000 or not. I would never win anything. Dad always would. Just a pound or two. He'd give it to me though, every time. It was a tradition.

I could see the jealous eyes of the others, wanting to be in our club. Never quite having the courage to ask though. We would have said no. They knew that.

It all changed one day. He had less and less spare time. But he always had time to go into the village with me. Always. He made time for me. His little princess.

We were on the village, sitting on the swings, scratching our cards. It was tense. It wasn't usually tense. But today it was. He wanted to tell me something. I could tell. We had a connection. I could read him like an open book. He could read me.

And so we scratched. I didn't win. I never had.

He scratched. He didn't win. He always won. Always. Except for today.

I knew then, my life would never be the same. I were loosing him.

And so he told me. He was leaving Mum. He had meet someone else. It was 'true love'. An opportunity not to be missed. I asked him if I could go with him. He smiled sadly, grabbed my hand and led me home.

He still visited. Sometimes. We would go to the village. Scratch our cards. He wouldn't win any more. We wouldn't have fun. Like we used to.

One day he took me to see his new girlfriend. Her name was Jill. She worked at the Daily Prophet. They had met at an interview. Apparently they had 'clicked'. He took us, James, Albus and me to their apartment. She sat on his lap. In my seat. Then she kissed him. With tongues. When we were there. Watching. Even though she was half his age.

The rest of the day passed in awkwardness. He took us into the village on the way home. James and Albus sat in the car. They knew it was our thing. Jill didn't. She came with Dad and me. She bought the cards. The expensive £5 ones. I didn't win. Dad didn't win. Jill won.

Lets go home, Dad had suggested. But it wasn't his home any more.

I walked in my faded front door. Not looking back.

Dad planned to take us out the Saturday after. To the fair. But he couldn't go. He had to meet Jill's parents.

He couldn't go the Saturday after either.

Or the one after that.

Then he just stopped suggesting.

I didn't see him again until he got married. I was going to be a flower girl. But Jill wanted pink dresses. Pink doesn't go with my hair. Her sisters got to be them instead. I sat in the back row, wondering what had happened to the man I used to call Dad.

In the summer Jill had a baby. I girl. Lila. One letter away from Lily. He loved her more than he every loved me. I could always read him like a book.

I was officially replaced.
