Epilogue
It was six years ago and the catastrophe happened. Raccoon city's residents were infected with the deadly T-virus which turns them into cannibalistic and flesh devouring creatures. Not only that, it also spawned numerous mutated creatures that lurks around in the darkest alleys. All of these are the aftermath of the inhumane actions of Umbrella Corporation which poses as a pharmaceutical company to cover its true evil intentions. They are striving to create the ultimate weapon, Tyrant, a weapon capable of mass destruction while preserving enough mental integrity to follow orders from its superiors. It derives it strength, agility and regenerative abilities from the T-virus. But renegade Umbrella Researcher William Birkin doesn't want to surrender his samples of T-virus and G-virus to Umbrella operatives which ensue in a firefight that spreads the virus in the sewer systems and water sources of the city in the process. The escaped specimens in the Mansion Incident in the Arklay Mountains also contributed in worsening the infection. As a result, Raccoon City, an ordinary mid-western city became a living hell and a breeding ground for grotesque creatures. One of those creatures is simply known as zombie and Umbrella gave them the same name. They are humans infected with the T-virus and characterized by their shuffling gait, falling and rotting patches of skin, white irises, sharp teeth and claws and insatiable desire for human flesh. In response to the impending threat, Umbrella sent Umbrella Counter Measure Services or the UBCS which comprises of prisoners of war, criminals, rebels and death row inmates. They were dispersed through out the city to reinforce the dwindling force of Raccoon Police Department and to rescue any survivors. But UBCS turns out to be a nasty disguise of Umbrella to fulfill its own purposes. Umbrella employees are given the topmost priority while civilians are used as baits to divert the enemies' attention away from the employees. Worst of all, Umbrella deliberately let the UBCS to be slaughtered in order to gather battle information for the improvement of their Bio Organic Weapons (BOW). Yet, a mercenary managed to escape the ordeal and live to tell the nightmare. A mercenary that will end the nightmare for good. A mercenary that will scrub the evilness from the face of the earth. And I'm the mercenary, Carlos.
