He was with her since 6 months.

He gave up his job for her.

He gave up his life for her.

She promised him, it wouldn't take long till she can walk again. She was wrong. Korra could barely take a couple of steps without hitting the cold ground.
Mako never left her side. When she fell down, when she woke up from a nightmare, when she let her frustration out, and when she cried. It didn't take a long time till his strong arms wrapped around Korra.

She told him every day that he could leave her anytime, that he doesn't have to stay with a girl who can't even standup by herself.
That he should go back to his job; Beifong would take him back anytime. And yet every day he reminds her that he wouldn't go back until she has recovered. He cared for her physical state. At night, Korra talked about committing suicide and destroying herself mentally. He had hoped Katara could help her more. "Korra has to believe in herself," assumed almost by everyone, but today was different.

Today she told us how awful it must've been that Aang's entire culture was taken from him; How he dealt with the suffering.
Korra grabs the poles and pushes herself up with a moan from her wheelchair.

Mako smiled, the little things that Korra could do it on her own made him happy.
"Close your eyes. Visualize yourself walking over to your Mako." Katara said with her soft voice. "Can you see it?" "Yes," unsure about making the move. "Now, take the first step." Korra's breath became heavier. Mako watched her feet. Slowly one step…Two steps. This repeats till her body starts shaking. She openedher eyes and stared at Mako. Suddenly she slipped away, but straightens herself up once more. When she reached the end of the pole, Mako opens his arms and korra lets herself fall into euphoria.

That was just the beginning.
