"Nnn, more…" Yuugi whimpered, looking up at the former king through heavy lidded eyes. The look he saw in those crimson eyes made his own widened in surprise. Was that… regret? "Atem?" he asked. "Is something wrong?"
The other blinked, as if brought out of whatever he had been thinking. "Aibou," he whispered with a touch of sadness, nuzzling in close to his partner with another thrust. Yuugi's temporary coherency was soon forgotten.

The shorter teen stared at the ceiling of his dark's soul room after, listening to the other catch his breath. It was then he asked again, "Atem, is something wrong?"
The other didn't answer, but his grip tightened.
"Atem?"
"Yuugi… I'm so sorry."
"Huh? Sorry for what?"
"You've been with me all this time… Helped me accomplish so much… and how I repay your kindness…"
"Atem, I always knew you'd have to leave eventually. You know that."
"I… should not have led you so far. It was selfish of me."
"You didn't lead me. I jumped in, just as selfish as you."
The pharaoh blinked.
"Anything else you want to try and blame yourself for?" the light giggled. "Or can we keep enjoying our last night together?"
"Hn, so certain…"
"No offense Atem, but I'm gonna kick your ass tomorrow."
"Then we'll be apart…"
"And together again… once the time is right."
