Hunter's Moon

I crept quietly through the night, sticking to the shadows. No one could see me; I was invisible, blending into the darkness. The eerie glow of lit pumpkins followed me everywhere, stalking me, but never quite catching me.
I looked towards the midnight sky, captivated by the Hunter's Moon shining down proudly, yet creepily on this accursed land. I wished to be the moon, soaring high above the earth, free, away from those who shun and disown me.
I made my way to a tall building, climbing up to the top. I moved towards the edge like a cat, graceful and silent. On the count of three, I leapt from the roof, streaking across the inky sky to land atop the next building. Again I jumped, for I knew this was the closest I'd ever get to touching the sky, the closest I'd get to flying beside my Hunter's Moon.

Suddenly, I heard a soft, sweet, innocent voice call out to me as I soared over a seemingly abandoned building. "I see you," it said.

In the blink of an eye, in the beat of a heart, rounds of bullets were fired, streaming towards me. They hit me dead on, knocking me out of the sky in massive pain and I fell to the earth in a bloody heap, my chest about to explode with white-hot hurt. These wounds were sure to be fatal. Crimson life pooled around and my vision faded to a black, the life starting to drain from my eyes. The last thing I saw before it went out completely was a white machine, a turret, I think, look to m with guns pointed. Its innocent voice rang out in my ears, "Are you still there?" as my last flicker of life faded away to nothingness.

A hunter's death beside a Hunter's Moon.

Harm: Wow! Two one-shot's in two days! Impossible, is it not? I just felt like doing a Horror/Tragedy for Portal and Left 4 Dead for Halloween, so here it is! Happy Halloween for you guys! Safe trick-or-treating! Sorry for the shortness!
