I slowly walk from one side of my room, to the other. The room feels too empty now that Kate has taken all of her things to her apartment she's renting. I don't know what i did that was so horrible. What did i do to make her feel the need to leave me like this. I wonder if she's seeing someone else, falling into a end endless mind set of depression or just, fell out of love with... me. I look t my watch: 11:45, almost lunch. I grab my wallet and head out of my room.
"Alexis?" I ask quite loudly into the empty apartment. "Hmm." She must have left for the office without me. I grab my keys and head for the door. A little piece of paper sticks out from the closet that holds our coats. I wouldn't have noticed the little thing it if it had not of fallen from one of the jackets. Kate's jacket. I pick the paper up and unfold it. Twice. "Katherine Castle..." I hum as i skim the rest of the words.
My eyes widen and i stuff the paper in my pocket. I leave the apartment. My keys can barely fit in the lock hole. Why wouldn't she tell me? She should know that i'd want to know these things.
The cab ride is complete torture. "So what's it like?" The driver asks.
"Whats what like?"
"Being famous, Having the perfect wife and daughter? I see you in the magazines all the time. Kate seems like a keeper. Pretty, nice body, sweet with the press-"
"Stop talking about my.. wife." She really is perfect. The driver just makes me miss her more.. I don't even know if ill have the rest of my life to be with her... I slowly arrive at the precinct. The elevator doors open, allowing me to walk into the place i used to know so much, into an office i had done many, many things in and i wait in the doorway.
She tucks her hair behind her ear as she looks up. Her eyes looked happy but now they have faded. "Rick, what're you doing here?" She sighs looking out the window, over the desks. I make my way to her desk and place the paper perfectly on her desk and cross my arms in front of me. "Where'd you get that?" She hisses, snatching the paper.
"When were you going to tell me that you had Alzheimer's?"
