Huck and Jim

Huck was a mischievous boy,
Who thought of Jim not as a man but a toy.
Jim was a superstitious slave,
But for freedom this he would trade.
Huck was forced to fake his death,
To hide from Pap who did not wish him the best.
Huck found Jim, who ran away,
if he returned Huck knew Jim would pay.
So down the Mississippi to freedom they hoped,
Until they discovered a sinking boat.
Jim, found 'Ole Pap's dead Corpse,
And led Huck down another course.
After a collision they were stranded,
Huck stayed in the Grangerfords big mansion.
Jim was a slave once more,
Until a Feud erupted as before.
Once again drifting in a raft,
They met two men who were daft.
Forced to play along with the men,
They had to pretend where they'd been.
Return to home they knew they must,
And left the Duke and King in the Dust.
Jim's freedom they did win,
Even for his next of kin.
Huck learned a lesson so dear,
That when you have friends there is nothing to fear.
