One-Shot?: A New Type of Sorting
A huddle of first years in awe and fear in the center of the Great Hall. And they were not alone, the entirety of the Great Hall, with the notable exceptions of a Deputy Headmaster and a Sorting Hat (who were actually looking quite smug), was completely flabbergasted, utterly confused, or ready to revolt. Any combination of the aforementioned reactions were also present. So, in summary Professor Severus Snape, no, Deputy Headmaster Snape was put in charge of the sorting ceremony. After all, it was tradition. "Exactly what happened to Dumbledore?" You may ask. Or, "Is Minerva okay? How did she permit this? Why?" On the other hand you may wonder, "Why did this happen? When? Where? Who can fix this? How?" Or perhaps you would ask, albeit with hesitation, "Yay?" and declare, "It's about time!" Or quite possibly this question may pop into your head and then promptly be blurted out, "Who wants to help me get rid of him?" In short, the pea-brains of the four types of people didn't even wonder, "Now what?"
