Prologue:
In the middle of nowhere, a hidden realm lies, shadowed in darkness and the dank stench of death. A cavern, hewed out of solid rock, hosts a merciless dragon. The Guardian, damned with immortality, is forced to guard the cavern of the dragon her whole existence. Nothing she did could calm the rage of the ravenous beast.
A Diva, tiered and lost, wandered in on the cavern by chance, singing. For she was taught that her crystalline voice kept all the bad things away. When the dragon heard her voice, her tempers and soul were immediately soothed. The Guardian was amazed at the Diva's power, and offered her an exchange; for her to stay and sing in the presence of the dragon, or for her to die by the claws of the dragon. The Diva, having lost everything due to previous war, agreed to stay and sing, even though she placed no value on her life.
The Diva sung all day and night, until the bitter end.
The Guardian now realized the cure for temper and rage, the soothing voice of a Diva.
Ever since, Diva's have been escorted to the cavern to calm the rage of the dragon. Ever since the first Diva, they have never stopped singing.
Many have lost their lives to the dragon. When one dies, another is there to replace it; History repeats itself.
...
Fate is cruel.
In a kingdom above the cavern, a queen had just given birth to twins, a girl and a boy.
A knock on the door startled the queen, and her almost-sleeping baby twins.
A guard and a Lady stood at the door. The queen had grieved that this day would come; the day the Diva collectors come. They were the ones who raised the new-to-be Diva; the one's who taught her to sing.
And there were here to pick up the queen's child. To be the new Diva.
The twins were meant to be together, but Fate made it not so.
A new Diva was chosen, time passed on...History repeats itself.
