Do not make any major decisions about ending your marriage now just because your spouse has been unfaithful.

The atmosphere was pregnant with thick tension, taught like a string pulled tight, a single flick and it would snap and lash back. Your husband of 15 years was sat across you, and he had at least the shame to drop his face away from your sight.

"You mean-"

"I'm so sorry," his hands came up and covered his face, his shoulders trembling as your gaze burned into him.

"Let me finish" Your words like venom, and he flinched, "You're telling me, that for the past 2 years you have been sleeping with one of my closest friends."

He took a moment, hesitation you hoped, before nodding stiffly.

You rested your forehead in your palm, elbow on table as you let out a long breath. "2 years, 2 fucking years and I never knew, how the hell did you hide it." You chuckled dryly, but your eyes were stinging, "we'd been friends for so long.. I can't, oh my god. That's why you made dinner, and came home early and mad everything really nice. I thought you were just trying to reconcile or something."

You wouldn't let those tears flow, no way, you would not show any weakness in front of him, not after what he had told you.

"I mean I knew something was wrong, I knew something was wrong for two years, but I didn't think you would have the audacity to cheat on me!"

Oikawa's head remained down, his shoulders were unmistakably shaking now.

"Tooru goddamit look at me, we're talking about this one on one."

He managed to look up, tears were slipping free and staining his cheeks, eyes rimemd an angry red.

"(y/n), please, you're all that matters to me. You're the most beautiful woman and the best thing that ever happened to me and I'm so, so sorry. There's no excuse for what I've done to you- but please!" He cried when you went to open you mouth, "Please don't, don't just bring us to an end."

You scrutinised him under your hard gaze, trying to hide all hurt and pain behind a stony cold look.

At your silence, Oikawa suddenly wailed and positively collapsed in front of you. His words of apology where lost i the table top and sobbing as he hid gave up on trying to keep ye contact.

You hated yourself for feeling sorry for him, hated that all these years of being married, of loving him and only him had reduced your once almost cruelly honest to such a soft and forgiving nature.

"I.."

He looked up, his sobbing silent for a moment as he stared at you, desperate and clinging to any faint hope he had left.

"I won't.. I'll give you a chance."

And with that you pushed back from the table and stalked away, leaving bedding outside the bedroom door. Because hell, that cheating husband of yours could have the damned couch.
