Disclaimer: I do not own the canon, I merely enjoy it.
Starring: Azula (and the other girls)
Summary: She hates that girl.
Rating: K+
The Blue Girl
She cannot stand the blue girl.
There is something fierce about her, something that defends and strikes out against those who are a threat to her pack. She acknowledges Azula is not the main threat, but she is the present enemy and does not fear to strike out at her. The princess grinds her teeth each time she encounters the rag tag posse to see the wounds that she has inflicted smoothed away. Erased by the inferior blue.
Azula cannot fathom this depth of forgiveness, of cleansing. So she hates it, and her fury feeds her own blue. Someday, she vows, her hot blue will overcome the cool, righteous blue of hers.
The Painted Whore
She knows all about the Kyoshi.
They are a mongrel pack, held together by white paint and fanaticism. A female horde defending a small island of fishermen. Their reputation of lovers for outranks the rumors of their fighting skills. Azula watches her, head hanging low, and wonders how long it will take to break her. Once the paint was stripped, her warriors dismissed and the whip applied, surely it would cleave this girl in two.
Azula hates the painted girl-warrior. Her insolent bravery extends much further then the white paint had foretold.
The Wild Child
She hates this one.
This small, seemingly insignificant child is the most accurate description of the struggles the Fire Nation as with conquering the Earth Kingdom. Her bravado and determination is the thick wall that her fire crashes against, only to be smothered by the relentless strength and dust of that endlessly green country. While she may not be able to tell if Azula lies it is not something she relies upon – like the others who have dealt with her the little girl knows one thing, Azula always lies. Therefore, the correct response is to crush upon sight at each and every encounter.
While she is mildly talented, a stronger bit of rabbles that associates with the Avatar, it is not until later when Azula truly feels the depth of her disdain for the other bender. It is when she moves from solid rock and wispy sand to snapping the hulls of Fire Nation ships does she fully appreciate her hatred of the Earth Kingdom's unrelenting and stubborn resourcefulness.
The Seer
This one is tiring. Like a toy that takes much effort to wind up and set loose.
She does not own a sturdy enough back bone to challenge Azula outright, but she is flexible enough and hesitant enough to hover between loyalties. Eager to please, and anxious to avoid most trouble, she contorts and flirts her way through life. Azula barks and sparks to remind her of her place and to keep her there.
But later, as she lies motionless of the ground, Azula wonders when the treachery started. It seemed that the circus girl was more flexible than she had assumed.
The Wolf in Sheep's Clothing
She hated her because she was so dangerous.
She was a pawn, an adept one, if Azula was honest about it, to everyone around her. Aa a potential Fire Lady she had enormous support through out the Fire Nation. As an ally and enemy she was far too skilled in politics and throwing stillettos to keep at arms length. She could control Ty Lee and offer logical advice. As a pawn afraid of never having approval she was easily controlled.
Too bad Azula never saw the queen beneath the eyeliner.
