Anthony DiNozzo was sound asleep in his bed at 3 AM.
Except his sound sleep was abruptly interrupted by a loud ringing noise. To be more exact, the fire alarm. He quickly awoke the woman sleeping beside him and began to pull her quickly along through the fire escape route. He did a double-take and ran back to grab the cellphones and rushed back out. When they reached the outside of the apartment building, many people were just rushing out onto the street and worrying noisily.
Tony's cellphone rang, "Hello?" he answered tiredly.
"DiNozzo!" he could hear Gibbs stern voice through the phone, "Are you alright? I heard there was a fire at your place. I'm coming to pick you up." Gibbs hung up.
The couple turned their attention to the blazing inferno that was quickly swallowing their apartment building. "Gibbs is coming to get us,"
"We are in so much trouble Tony!" Ziva exclaimed looking down at Tony's long white button up shirt that went well past her knees. To make matters worse, Tony had worn the exact same shirt yesterday to work. To complete the package she was also standing barefoot and wearing his OSU sweatpants.
"Oh, relax Ziva." he sighed, putting an arm around her shoulder, "Gibbs won't say anything. What is he gonna do about it now anyways?"
She shoved him away and took a few steps back, "I do not know!" she wailed, "Break us up?"
Tony erupted into laughter, "Ziva… listen… we've been dating for a few months. He can't do anything now,"
"Sure he can, Tony!"
He pulled her close again and she buried her head in his shoulder, awaiting Gibbs. He pulled up about five minutes later.
The two walked up to the car, and entered the back. Gibbs didn't even bat an eyelash at the sight of Ziva, "You guys okay?"
"We're fine," Tony answered, looking at Ziva.
The first few minutes were spent in silence until Ziva finally blurted, "You are not mad?"
Gibbs chuckled, "Mad about what?"
"Never mind," Tony interrupted, dropping the topic.
When they arrived at their boss' house, Gibbs showed them inside and lead them to his guest bedroom. "Goodnight you two,"
"Wait!" Ziva called after him."You're not mad about Tony and I?"
Gibbs smiled at her, "No. It's not like I didn't know. You two are so obvious. But keep it out of the office, like you have,"
"When did you find out?" Tony asked curiously.
"Right after your first date. Ziva, you're not very good at hiding happiness. You practically bounced into the office the next morning acting as if you'd won the lottery. And DiNozzo actually worked properly," Gibbs answered, walking to his room and shutting the door.
"Goodnight Gibbs," Ziva yelled, her cheeks flaming bright red.
Then, finally when Tony and Ziva had fallen asleep, Gibbs smiled to himself.
Oh, how he couldn't wait for Abby to find out.
